Bohannon playing on 9.2 vs CR Xavier

Linn-Mar 82 CR Xavier 76. Two very nice teams and a very entertaining game to watch. Bohannon with 33 points. My first time seeing him play, and although it is only a one game sample size, I was impressed. Nice stroke from outside with a pretty quick release. Handles the ball very well with both hands. 93% free throw shooter and he showed why. He was quicker that what I expected. He had a real nice cross-over for a layup and then a really quick spin move for a layup. He was guarding a sophomore from Xavier by the name of Mims (who is a very nice player as well). Mims is pretty quick and Jordan guarded him very well.

My favorite part of his game tonight came at the end. With L-M up (4pts?) and less than a min. left, he pressured ball enough and fouled the dribble up court and fouled the PG. Then he made sure his team knew it was only their 4 team foul. It's the kind of game awareness that should be more common sense but really isn't.

Not sure how chanting "overrated" at a kid who put 30+ on you makes sense but I suppose that's high school.

I am wondering if Bohannon's offensive game resembles that Brust kid at all...I remember seeing clips of him in HS and he could shoot, but I wondered if he was going to be Cully Payne II. Turned out he had game..deadly shooter from deep and an array of circus shots around basket.

I like Bohannon being a 90% FT shooter. I also think his brother's have all shown mental toughness to compete at high level. Maybe Bohannon turns out to be perfect complement to CW at PG.

He has terrific range and has shown he can create shots on the "AAU" circuit. It would be stupid to say he can create on a B1G level just watching high school games, but he's still able to do it at the national level against high quality competition. He doesn't do it as much, but when he's playing with the talent around him that he does, he doesn't have to.

Brust would be a very good comparison. Brust may have had longer range, but I think Jordan might be a little quicker. I've heard a lot of 'experts' say that Jordan is the best of the Bohannon brothers. Anyone care to comment on that?

Living in the area and seeing them all play (not stupid enough to call myself an expert, even with the quotation marks:D) I would say it's close between he and Jason, but I think Jordan has a more "complete" game. Matt is obviously a very solid shooter but I would say not as quick with the first step and overall with the ball as J&J. Zach had the "least" athleticism but had the height and was one of the smartest players I've ever seen; had an uncanny knack for seeing a play develop a second or two before it seemed to happen. I would give the edge to Jordan in that I think he can get a shot up off the dribble very quickly--even stopping mid-break--and Jason wasn't quite as fast with that. Add maybe 10lbs of muscle/bulk so he can withstand getting knocked around in the paint and I think he's going to fit in very nicely.

I thought Jordan played well, but let's at least give the whole picture. Mims is a soph. 5'7, had a career high and went by him whenever he wanted. I think all his points were in the lane or layups. Xavier's best guard, 5'10" was hurt and didn't play.

I liked Jordan's Dad Gordy and remember my excitement about Hayden landing a talented JUCO quarterback out of California. Jordan comes from good blood lines as does a couple of our other future Hawks :) Living out of state I don't get to see these kids play but from what I can tell the point guard position looks in fine shape for the foreseeable future with Connor coming onboard soon as well.

Yep. I can see Williams playing more 2 than 1, especially after Connor arrives.
