Bottom Line: Iowa Wins Out They Win The West

Who do you think is going to beat Wisconsin? Northwestern? Purdue? No, and no. Won't be Michigan and it Won't be Penn State. And it sure as hell won't be Nebraska or Minnesota.

Not necessarily.
And Iowa's not winning out anyway. At best they'll have one more loss , much more likely at least 2. 9-3, 6-3 would be a pretty good year for this team

Yeah, we'll be playing some crappy ACC team on December, 26th again, in some miserable location.

so what are these 3or 4 losses?

i'm not counting on much for psu, but what are the others?

I'll take bets on those other games!

I'd call Minnesota a 50-50 game
Indiana is going to be a 60-40 game given they usually play well against the Hawks
Maryland is no gimme 75-25
PSU 20-80
Purdue 50-50 - they handled Iowa last year
Northwestern 70-30
Illinois 80-20
Nebby 80-20

I see 2, maybe 3 loses given that Iowa usually loses a game we shouldnt.

You obviously haven't been paying attention the last 20years. History pal.
we usually lose 2 or 3 games we shouldn't lose each year?
show me each year we lost 2 games we shouldn't. show me the years with 3 losses we shouldn't have had.

md will be WAY more difficult than mn and their 28 fans! and both should be wins imo! md is no guarantee, but at home I say we're a definite favorite
purdue could be 50 50 if they get their d straight, for now i'd say 60/40 or so
NW, I'd say 70/30 seems reasonable(and even more so if thorson never gets near 100%) as well as braska and illannoy

mi and psu could beat them.....psu I'd say probably will

doesn't matter though, because it's hard to see us winning in crappy valley :(

Iowa loses to Penn State is obvious

I can see Michigan beating this Wisky team, Wisky is just not that good. So that means we need the douche bags at Penn State to step up.

Wisconsin controls our destiny at this point.

Iowa will lose 2-3 more times this season. They simply don’t have enough offense to not lose a few more games the shouldn’t. Guessing Penn St, Indiana, and Purdue are the likely culprits.
PU has the opposite problem....who says we can't score on them?
IN? LMFAO, I'll take that bet!

We need wiscy, to lose 3 b1g games....assuming psu beats us.
We had our shot tonight and blew it. Went from about 50-50 to like 1-99?

I will give you $15 for every Iowa win the rest of the year but if Iowa loses another game outside of Penn St you owe me $250. Joking of course but almost no Iowa fan would take that bet because we know we likely lose to one of those crap teams that we are favored to beat every year. We will likely be favored in every game besides PSU for the rest of the year but you gotta think there is a loss out there. We are lucky we play in the West and not the East. We are also lucky the B1G will likely never switch up the divisions again and make them more balanced. They do that and KF is a 6 or 7 win coach.

Ah that's right. The BYU loss keeps confusing me. Welp, that means this season is meaningless.

But hey, the silver-lining is that means we're one year closer to Ferentz's retirement and Stanley graduating.

I won't be surprised to see us lose 1 we shouldn't. Then again when we do we usually win one we shouldn't.
I see very little(basically zero) chance we lose 4 more games. 3 is possible but still not likely imo. 2 could very well happen.
It won't take a really good team to go 10-2 this year imo.

That's the part that stings. We have one team every year we have to beat and its Wisconsin. We lose that game and it's almost always over for us. Then we are left battling for 2nd place in a crappy division. Impressive for the East. Ohio St, Penn St, Michigan St and Michigan having to beat 3 of those teams every year is no easy thing to win that division. Iowa could be in Michigan St's shoes there.

we could be much better if we cared about winning as much as those schools(no thanks).

i will give jimmy some credit though. They seem to run a squeaky clean program compared to the other 3!

And of course that in state talent doesn't hurt lol.

We haven't really had a really good team since the Orange Bowl team. We benefit greatly from a very weak West Division outside of Wiscosnin (the one team we just can't beat). The bowl games have proven this. Iowa has fallen off ever since that orange bowl year. Even our Rose Bowl team was average. Stanford and Alabama exposed the B1G that year. I think KF has gotten far too much credit these past 9 years. Playing in the B1G West has masked just how far Iowa has fallen. If we lose to PSU and mystery crap West team and finish 9-3 that doesn't necessarily make us a good team anymore.

MSU got lucky in 15. Bama played the 3rd best b1g team and stanford played the 4th best, basically on their home field!
Yes the division can help boost the record, but when we play a road bowl game virtually every year vs a "home" team that doesn't make it any easier.

Hard to argue that we haven't had a great team for quite awhile. That said, I do think this one could be! Especially next year, but I'd really love fant to be around for it! :(

We won a lot of those bowl games in KF's first 10 years. Against some pretty good SEC teams playing in their own territory. It's not like the talent isn't there anymore, I think it is but KF has just refused to adapt. I mean this game proved a lot of that. Wisconsin has some major holes and we failed to hit them where they were weak and instead ran the same gameplan we have run against them since the late 90's. We had the better team tonight in my opinion. BYU was not the better team last week but they continuously hit Wisconsin where they were weak.

The better team that dropped the ball because they ran into a defensive players ass? Or the one that steps on a punted ball?

Without those 2 plays, we win. W/O being screwed by the refs, we win.

Or the fact we couldn't get in the end zone despite being within 5 yards of it twice. Our offense could have beaten the Badgers down this game but we chose to go with the offensive gameplan from the 90's. You know the same one we have been running against Wiscosnin for 20 years and the same one that Wisconsin has owned us on this decade.
