When was the last time iowa had an above average all around big ten guard?!? I’m talking Boo Bouie, Hood-Schifino, Jalen Pickett, etc. Well, we had CJ until he got sick of it and left. Hopefully Tony gets there, he could.

Conner is shooting 3's the third best on the team behind Dix and Bowen. His air balls look bad; but, he is the best multiple 3 shooter with many attempts and minutes.
So you don't count the conference's career leading 3 point shooter above average? School assist leader, above average?
As a shooter, yea. As an all around guard, get out of here. Richmond’s Jacob Gilyard with his back door cut and Oregon’s entire starting guard court from 2020-2021 have entered the chat.
Playing 6 years was a pretty big factor there if we are being honest. Definitely a great shooter and tallied a whole lot of assists passing to some of Iowa's all time best scorers but as far as breaking down defenses with the dribble and playing tenacious perimeter D which is what great pg's do....no. Not at all
Edit: Above average is a pretty low bar and with his great shooting ability and the assist numbers he tallied he's definitely above average, I'll take that back. I was kinda backing what steamboat said about being an all around PG. His defense was a downright liability much of the time and he just wasn't quick enough to break down defenses with the dribble.
Above average player? Sure, I think he was honorable mention all conference his 6th yr. Really good all around PG? Not quite
Bottom line is Fran's record of recruiting and developing the kind of pg's you need to be really successful has been lackluster at best. His track record in March backs that up
