Brandon Snyder Arrested

I would think at least a 1-3 game suspension assuming he’s a starter, I wish him the best and hopefully he’s in the mix next fall.

Iowa City don’t have Uber or Lyft? I’m sure he’s a better person than this, but this is pretty low. Be a role model, not a drunk driver.

i wonder how many people have driven drunk(.08) at least once in their life

Depends on how old you are. If you are over 40 it was probably an every weekend occurrence in high school as "road tripping" was pretty much what everybody did. If you are younger, maybe not, as drinking and driving has been demonized to the point that it is one of the worst possible things a person can do.

Personally, I don't drink and drive at all. When I was younger, yeah, it was pretty much an accepted practice where I lived and in the times when I was growing up.

A buddy of mine made an observation once, kind of a joke. The problem with kids these days is not that they drink and drive, it's that they are terrible drunk drivers. They just don't have the practice like we did back in the day.

Honestly, drinking and partying are part of the college experience. Sadly, but it's true. And as much as I hate to say it, but by the grace of God, there go I.

I'm in NO WAY defending this, but it does happen.
So true. Certainly did my share,(of which I'm not proud today), when I was a teenager in Iowa. Back then the legal age was 18, and no one ever heard of DUI, or OWI, or any of that, nor did people have child safety seats. Hell I can still remember the first car my dad got that had standard seat belts. (Lap belts only), they didn't have shoulder belts yet in the early 60's. Different times, different rules you have to follow.

Same. I get it. Don't demonize the kid for it. I did it when I was his age, and only by God's grace did I not hurt someone. When I was in college, it didn't seem like a big deal as long as I felt "functional". I'm sure some of you can relate. Dumb decision then, still dumb today. The best thing that can happen is that he learns from this and positively influences peers and teammates to make wise decisions. Hopefully good will come from this for him and others.

Yep, exactly.

One more reason it sucks to be famous.

This is serious but I am surprised this made the front page of stories on espn.com.
Unfortunately has probably gotten more publicity than our bowl so far.

I also think we should be pretty careful throwing around the "depressed" term here. That's getting awfully close to the medical speculation zone in which we have no idea. Probably fair to say he might be disappointed/down about another rehab, but "depressed" takes on a little different connotation when things like alcohol are involved. Very likely he could just have made the same mistake thousands of others his age have, without some form of depression.

Just IMO.

Dantonio (and many others) would still start him if they had a game this Saturday.

I appreciate KF's discipline, however.

Funny story on an Iowa football player outside the bars.

My coworker was hitting the IC bars years ago. The driver in his group went to get the car and when he arrived outside the bar there was a big dude in the front with him. Everyone else got in and no one talked. They dropped off the big dude first.

Apparently Matt Roth went up to him and told him he would be giving him a ride home. Haha

Three words:

Ride home.

While I agree with all the posters about not drinking or at least not drinking and driving. I don’t find the invasion of privacy funny by a website blasting out a mug shot for something like this.
