Well, I did say I felt sorry for the good fans, but I still believe most of them don't care, believe or even want to know that Osborne, did in fact, run a fairly shady program, all for the W. Glad your father is one of the good ones. I don't post my opinions based on the 5-15% of the ones not acting like their in some cult. 35-40% of my friends are Husker fans, most of them delusional, but still my friends. I come to an IOWA HAWKEYES board to see Huskers all over this board talking their shit cause their cult leader bans anyone that say anything negative about them, like a good cult leader would. So I offer no apologies for venting on MY teams board about this narcissistic fan base.
Osborne had more class and moral goodness than many Hawks will ever realize. He truly cared about his players . He kept in touch with Lawrence Phillips to the very end doing everything he could to positively impact him. He visited him in prison where most coaches would have forgot about him. He now dedicates his life to helping kids without solid role models to have a better life. He was always a players coach and taught them much more than just the x's and o's of football. He was and is a wonderful person who does not deserve the false claims that detractors seem to throw out there. Before you attack Tom Osborne maybe it would behoove you to actually check out some of the good he has actually accomplished.

Again, just as the original poster stated, you have an entire board dedicated to celebrating the sanctimoniousness of Osbourne. Feel free to use it.

So it's like buying carbon credits so you can fly your private jet. Doing good is wonderful, does it offset the garbage?

It's his penance. How many years did it take him to apologize to the woman Peters raped.
