For the people that are truly offended....it tells me you haven't been to many football clinics. The glazier clinic I was at last week...the only presentation that didn't have some colorful, language was the FCA presentation.
Was this your first time to a Glazier clinic? What did you think? Would you recommend it?
Presumably, he reads the posts from others stating the same, so in this case he is reiterating what others have said.Originally posted by MattFoleyHawk:

I get a kick out people who are so pretentious as to think that they speak for others.
How do you take offense to my asking BigHawk a serious question about the glazier clinic?
And my ancient laptop has no 'quote function' that I am aware of.
No, we would prefer you stop embarrassing the Hawkeye fanbase.Originally posted by MattFoleyHawk:

He used the qualifier 'most' in his statement. Though I have no doubt that the BSCI crowd, and a few pretenders, like yoururself, would prefer that I stop embarrassing them, I will stand by my statement that it is pretentious, not to mention preposterous, to believe you may speak for others, or to be deluded enough to think you constitute a majority.
He does coach, he coaches at Wilmington,Iowa.Look it up! (It's not a real place!)Originally posted by BigHawk:
Matt foley.....have been to a lot of glaziers over the years..they are very good and very football intensive. A good variety of offense, defense and special teams presentations. I don't go to the campus clinics anymore as they tend to be too much filler..but the glaziers are like a football "class."
If you coach you should go to them and get everyone on your staff to go.

How in the wide-wide-world-of-sports can you prove that Brian Ferentz was ever offered a coaching position anywhere besides IOWA? OC at PSU.....are you kidding?
The only job offer he ever had was at IOWA.

Brian Ferentz has no business speaking at any kind of coaching clinic. He should sit his ass down, shut his mouth, and listen....maybe he could learn something.

I'm interested in the claim he was offered the OC job at PSU. Think the poster above claimed it happened twice... I find that claim interesting considering O'Brien didn't have that position on his staff, during his short tenure at PSU......Originally posted by 187hawk:

Anyone else see Brian Ferentz talk at the coaching clinic in Chicago last week? Pretty disappointing, IMO, on how he spoke and conducted himself. Considering he recruits the Illinois territory and is out to create a positive image, I don't think he did himself any favors. While speaking, the guy literally drops some 10 f-bombs and says $hit another dozen plus times all in the first 20 minutes. Just came across very arrogant to a lot of people. Kind of railed on Hayden Fry and how he had his TE's standing up as one of the dumbest things he has seen. I was there with a guy who played for Iowa under Hayden Fry and he got so turned off, he got up and walked out. It was just very surprising and disappointing as he is a guy who has always spoke very well when being interviewed.
Just curious if anyone else saw him speak that same weekend and got the same impression. Just thought it was unprofessional and not what you would expect.
Yeah, we all remember how embarrassing coach Norm Parker was to listen to and what a terrible coach.Originally posted by David1979:

Holy crap, people! I am not ripping on BF or looking for confirmation from anyone else. I was merely voicing my opinions on what I witnessed and didn't expect him to come off like that. It was a very large convention and I was just asking if another coach on these boards happened to witness it and had similar thoughts? I have no vendetta or ax to grind here. I am a big fan of KF and have enjoyed listening to BF speak to the press. Just had a much less professional tone to it and the way he spoke and carried himself was just kind of frowned upon by many of the coaches I was with. Relax, people. If there was no one else to witness it, then move on. If it's not a big deal to you, that's fine. I was simply talking to coaches that were there.Originally posted by Hawkness Monster:

I believe you and it doesnt surprise me. Talking on the IClub circuit, which are just big pep rallies for Iowa fans are much different than speaking at a coaching clinic.Originally posted by herkyhawk00:

Yes, I have been fortunate enough to have heard many Iowa coaches talk over the years. Yes, I have listened to Tom Brands tell many of his hilarious stories with Norm Parker on the Hawkeye Circuit of coaches that used colorful language. No, I was not disappointed in how they conducted themselves.

I really did not know the concept of fact or opinion or speculation, etc. was such a difficult concept for so many, until I started following this site..
Buck, I await your next nescience post with great eagerness, LOL
Brian is that you? also, if you are going to take credit for coaching an outland trophy winner you better be prepared to be saddled with coaching and influencing a suspected murderer.Originally posted by MattFoleyHawk:
If I came on here and said I saw Brian Ferentz at a gay strip club, would all you freakin tards start talking about his 'preference' or morality or would you wait for some kind of verification, validation, of said event? Like I keep saying, this site is full of a bunch of batshit crazy idiots!!! And all this sh*t that he couldn't get a job anywhere else??? Have most of you bin sleeping under a rock like the Geiko commercial? I can tell you something first hand with my own eyes and ears. Bill O'Brien was at spring practice last year talking to KF about his son (I was standing right next to them and there was a picture of me standing next to them on this site) and KF said to BB that his son's language was a little more 'colorful' than his own (while 'motivating' some OL's during a drill)....
He was all-conference, made the line calls for 3 years at Iowa, was raised by one of the most respected line coaches in the NFL, coached the Patriots, coaches at Iowa, and coached an Outland Trophy winner, but he should 'sit down, shut up and learn something'??? I'm starting to believe this is just a big 'put-on' and I'm not in on the joke...
Either this is some kind of 'punked' episode, or most of you are just the stupidest f*cking clowns that ever walked the face of the earth...
I keep waitin for Ashton Kutcher to jump out or Allen Funt to come out of his grave to let me know this all a joke so I can regain a shrivel of hope in mankind again...
If he acutally did get 'colorful' at a coaching clinic, what the fck does it matter to you? If he was 'out of line', I can assure you fcking dckweeds that the organizers of the event, his dad, the U of I, etc... would address it without all of your brilliant imput...
2222 doesn't usually do very good with the smack talk, but this is one of his better efforts......and I must say it is pretty spot on. If he would have used know instead of no, I would rate it 4 stars. As it is I will have to rate it at a 79 3***Originally posted by Hawkeye2222:

Well Sir "nobody is a bigger Hawkeye fan than me", here is one of your overwhelming positive posts now. You are right, they are all over out there...you are as even keeled as there is. "Tell it like it is" you always say. Nice throw in of "hopefully this is just a story". patheticOriginally posted by hansenhawk:
Swearing is only acceptable in side conversations.
If he was using this language speaking in an official capacity at a coaches convention, well, it tells us A LOT about what kind of human being Brian Ferentz really is.
Unprofessional, and unacceptable if true.
Hopefully this is just a story.

Hmm, considering both Hayden Fry and Bill Snyder signed off on the idea of standing TE's I'd say Brian better check himself.Originally posted by herkyhawk00:

Standing gives the TE better vision, and that could certainly help them with their blocking and route running down field. I seem to recall our TEs standing up a couple times this year. Does anyone else remember this?Originally posted by FBletterman:
