I like this kid's mentality. He would definitely thrive in Iowa City

<<“I answer one call and they say how much they want me,” Teske said after a weeknight workout with Team Valley Wrestling Club. “I hang up and the next call is like, ‘You’re the greatest thing ever.’ No, I’m not.

“So, I come to practice and get humbled. I get a workout, get tired and sweaty, and I know I’m not ready yet.”>>

Isu is going pretty hard after him. I am pretty sure Iowa and Uni are trying also.

I have no inside info but my gut tells me that if Teske stays in state, he'll be a Cyclown. Training in Ames 2 days a week, with the new Iowa 2.0 staff doesn't help us out one but.

He is a 25 pounder. Cut very little to make 120 this year. Biggest problem is not sure he sees a starting spot at Iowa.

I actually agree with this, as much as I'd like him to be a hawk we need a 133. Maybe he will grow into one but if he doesn't where does he fit? He's to good to ride the bench.

Weights will sort out...I can remember a ton of great guys at same weights yrs ago..

Lots said same about Gilman/Clark early on..

We have the best coaches for him, the best fans and the best workout partners!
I agree. For the Iowa coaches they should be recruiting him hard and sort it out later.

I was speaking more from his perspective. I don't think he sees himself as a 33 pounder right now and thinks he can be a 4 year starter/AA somewhere. But, having Spencer at his weight, understandably gives him concern about coming to Iowa.

All I want to know is, can he beat Teasdale?
This post got me thinking, does anyone know if Iowa is still recruiting him?? He hasn't signed with psu yet either and there was enough mutual interest to verbal in the first place. Not that I personally would prefer it, just wondering if anybody knew where things stood now.

While not losing any sleep over the matter, but I'd rest easier knowing the kid was training in IC rather than Ames if'n I was hoping to get him on the team.

Tough to drive to IC for regular practice. Ames is much closer to FD. They completely changed over their coaching staff. I rest easier knowing that he's more familiar with Iowa's coaches.

Unfortunately if he is a 125 lber, then he shouldn't come to Iowa, unless Lee thinks he will eventually go at 133. It would be a shame, because we need to secure all the Top 10 national instate kids. Now, if he sees 133 in his future, he will be able to train with Lee. Iron sharpens iron.

Can someone clarify this board's position on having lots of studs at one weight? When you guys have it, the weights "will work themselves out," but when Penn State has it, it's a problem, great guys will be on the bench, etc.

You guys had Lee, Teasdale, JRent and Mejia, and you're left with Lee, despite this board bumping Teasdale to 149 to fit him in. Where is Teske going to go? 174?

I didn't realize that this board has a POSITION on anything! There are hundreds of posters, so there are hundreds of OPINIONS (not positions). With that said, I think that everyone would agree (thus our POSITION) that Teske will not be able to beat Young for the 174 spot, but no doubt will take the 165 spot away from Marinelli. ;)

Every
Damn
Thread

Can't be every thread. Prior to yesterday I hadn't posted since April 6th.

You lack self awareness. Seemingly every thread on this board ends up about PSU.

I seriously think we could post a thread about how blue the sky is in Iowa City today and we would get told how the sky is better in State College and that PSU blue is more beautiful.

Just have to ignore the immature guys. They'll go away if they get no attention.
Exactly. And this goes for every thread where the knuckleheads rear their heads.

Folks, some fans around the country aren't real comfortable with what's going on in Iowa City. They realize that a sleeping giant has awakened and that the Iowa wrestling fans -- the biggest, most knowledgeable, and most passionate wrestling fan base nationwide -- are uniting with the program and the U of I to elevate our game. They understand that recruiting has picked up, that it's only going to improve, and that we'll be passing everyone up in terms of facilities before long. They're threatened by this, as you can imagine.

How do people often react when they're threatened? They lash out, they ridicule, and they criticize. I'm sure some Iowa fans took that bait when PSU was turning around, which is unfortunate, but congrats to them for becoming a national powerhouse. We're now the "hunter", and you can expect the Iowa haters to come out of the woodwork right and left with criticisms, mockery, and ridicule. I don't see that stuff on this board, as I'm pretty liberal with the "ignore" feature. You might want to do the same.

Let's stay positive, block out the noise from the naysayers, and keep our eyes on the prize. Let's just keep working together to help build the greatest wrestling facility on the planet -- which I think will materialize within a few years -- and get the HWC endowed and running on full blast. So don't let the turkeys get you down, and let's put the Hawks, and the HWC, back on top!
