Cade McNamara enters Transfer Portal

Not very impressive. He could have at least waited until after the bowl game to portal out. I feel the same way about any other player who portaled during the regular season...remember a RB but not sure who else.
portal window closes December 28th, so he couldn't. plus I'm thinking he is looking to get picked up quickly by a desperate team.

Now he can go be below average somewhere else for 1 year.

Its not like he's bailing in a situation where the team is going to suffer. The odds of him playing were very low anyway. He's basically 4th on the depth chart so portalling out now doesn't hurt the team at all, but it does help him find a home. Who cares?

Meh

Looked like a questionable get when he was first brought in. Taking a flyer on an injury riddled player was not a good choice. Poor vetting by all involved in his recruitment. Unsurprisingly, he flopped.
I don't care where he goes or what he does. Although it would be hilarious if he ended up at another Utah school.

Agree with the pretense of the eligibility "rules". They might as well go away like every other vestige of what used to be amateur college football.

He didn’t play since the NW game. Isn’t that what people wanted? His decision to sit out the last two games is probably not a good look for him, and he will have to deal with the fall out of that, if any. But it did not seem to impact Iowa at all.

So now he’s transferring. Big whoop. It’s a win for both sides. It simply didn’t work out the way we believed it would.

The young man is delusional. Surely his mom can't even imagine a program at any level seeking his services. Cade should hang 'em up. Be happy he was the QB game manager for a Big Ten title and playoff team at Michigan and, if he wants to stay in football, find himself some sort of coaching gig. Whoever is advising this kid needs to help him see reality.

Maybe he just wants to keep playing. He’s got one more chance and that’s it.

From what I have seen, he's gonna need a special medical waiver for this 7th year (i am no expert on 7 year guys...LOL)

I’m guessing he found out he got his waiver the Monday/Tuesday prior to the Maryland game and decided to end his season. This may be why their was a little confusion on the depth chart/kf pc as it all happened with short notice.

Just pure speculation

Maybe he can transfer to New Mexico State and battle it out with his brother, Jake for the job, on one of the worst FBS teams. Little brother is a Sophomore and on his 2nd school after a stint at UTEP.

Scum-bag response! Cade gave all he had to the Iowa program but unfortunately his many injuries hindered his performance. Cade is a quality guy and best of luck to him in all his future endeavors.
I'm basing my post on the story of him refusing to attend Senior Day.

And there were reports where his statements and KF's statements were in direct conflict.

It's going to be interesting if any relevant school takes a chance on such a delicate physical player.

Do these players still have to take some sort of graduate classes to play? I mean, he has to be running out of degrees to get
