It really is flat out amazing how bad the QB room has been for a school like Iowa. I mean honestly you almost couldn't be this bad on purpose! The fact that this team won 8 games is flat out amazing. But to have a run like Petras, DH, and Cade is just flabbergasting.

I can't say I blame him. If he can make $200K+ for another year of part-time work, why not? The alternative is an entry level job making $60K at best for Cade.

I was on board with bringing McNamara to Iowa. Yes, he was injured but it seemed like a reasonable gamble that he could be considerably better than anyone we had on the roster.
But right away it was apparent he was damaged goods. His on-field performance was poor - at best. He was drifting backwards and throwing off his back foot with no velocity and limited mobilty.
I dont know if the flaw was KF stubbornness to admit he was wrong or his inability to evaluate, but Kirk kept doubling down and trotting him out there, to the detriment of the team present and future.
JHC … time to hang er up Cade … great human being and a standout good person but no way are you ever getting to the big league
Cade would never step into a throw. He was always throwing off that back leg with no velocity and little accuracy.
I just hope we learned our lesson and won't pickup portal QBs from bluebloods with a history of injuries.
Go find a rising QB from the mid-majors or FCS.
Every non-conference "cupcake" QB we face each year is better than Cade or whoever else we have at QB. It's infuriating.

At least now we don't have to worry about Capt Fossil insisting that McNamara starts the bowl game.
I remember the excitement I had when they got him and it's been all downhill since then. Now he walks away as quietly as Petras did.
At least Petras, for as bad as he performed (and not all his fault), was a class act. McNamara sure isn’t.

I bad mouthed Cade as much as anyone; not because of his skills but because our coaches were unrealistic in sticking with him as a starter. His future, I hope nothing but good tidings. He did nothing wrong.
