Wittlake came out and took it to the Iranian 7-1. He is going Bear Hunting in the second round.

RBY with the quick TF over Romania...even had a throw.

Yianni with the TF...Kid from Colorado lost. Makes us 4-1 in the first round.

Wittlake in on a single with the guy's leg up and gets rolled though to his back and pinned

That 76Kg match was nuts. Geo beats Russia 11-9 and Russia coach jumps on match and confronts ref. Not sure why

Steveson wins 5-1.

Russian scored first point on a shot out of bounds. Steveson responded with a single leg takedown and then a gut to go up 4-1 1:10 into the match. Steveson scored another point by forcing a rather stacked Russian out of bounds in the second period. Steveson controlled the entire match.

100 kg/220 lbs. - Gable Steveson, Apple Valley, Minn. - Cadet World Champion.

Now a two-time World Champion.

Thanks Buf...got it. Russian coach straight up slapped the ref, who happened to be American btw. He got kicked out but then ended up presenting the medals at that weight. Ten bucks says that the Russians won't get suspended...meanwhile, Mongolians sitting there in their underwear watching at home saying, "What?"

I saw a good point from C. Pyles on Twitter. Mongolians get permanently banned from international competition for their "peaceful" protest, but Russians continue with the physical confrontations and nothing will happen. The UWW "needs" them too badly...for the good of the sport.

I saw the Cyclone Wrestling Club twitter retweet a bunch of Gable Stevenson images from today. I didn't see that for others. Do they have the inside track, or what's the connection?

Rather than drop the hammer I think the UWW narrows the discrepancy between the violent Russians and naked Mongolians by easing up on the Mongolians, and maybe punishing the Russians just a tad. Won't entirely immunize them from criticism but it's tough to imagine Russia getting anything more than a wrist slap.

"It's not like anyone brought a gun onto the mat or anything," explained a UWW spokesperson a few weeks from now.

Time to dust off the old Jerry Tarkanian quote: "the NCAA is so mad at Kentucky they’re going to give Cleveland State another year of probation."

That's one thing our guys need to get better at...social media...especially Twitter.

Pablow are you asking what /who is RBY? If so, it is Roman Bravo-Young.

I don't know that State would have a lot of money for Gable and RBY but you know who would? tOSU. It lines up with RBY and NATO leaving.

Isu could definitely use steveson but they've got a lot of guys these last 2 recruiting cycles between 125-133 they should be going after need weights now. Bank on RBY in the B1G btw just maybe not where most would expect

If RBY and Steveson are looking at Ohio State, I have to think Ohio State is also looking at David Carr.

I hope Iowa State lands 1 or 2 of RBY, Steveson, Carr and Wittlake. Not sure which weight is needed most and not sure coaches know either yet.
Also Teske and Real Wood would be on their radar, I think.

How Vega manages 125 next year. Assuming Simmons will be 133. RBY could be a need.
How Coleman and Mantanona shake out at 174/184. Wittlake could be a need.
Gremmel at Hwt, but how do you not go after Steveson.
165 - Verkleeren, Baptista, Allar seems to be 157/165 pounders, but I really like David Carr. Assume he is at 165

ISU is sitting Pretty, 57 is there only real need.

Yes most weights are covered, so they really don't know what weight is a priority
