You can bet that when it's time for tournament games Iowa women will have a target on their backs. The only thing is they can't catch CaitlinHow about her going for 60 or dropping 25 dimes in a game this coming year. The media would eat that up. And more fans would come to the game anticipating what they may get to see.
And for good measure, another FF run.
I just hope the quality of officiating in the women’s game improves next year. You can bet that when it's time for tournament games Iowa women will have a target on their backs. The only thing is they can't catch Caitlin
To borrow from Geno Auriemma, We have Caitlin and you don’t.You can bet that when it's time for tournament games Iowa women will have a target on their backs. The only thing is they can't catch Caitlin
Well if it's anything like the men's, not only will it stay the same, but they'll also get vindictive as hell and take it out on teams/coaches/players they felt wronged them.......................I just hope the quality of officiating in the women’s game improves next year.
Is ESPN still covering B1G womens games? I think they are done covering the B1G in mens basketball and football, correct? Did they not say this year that, that was the last B1G mens game on ESPN? I believe the current contract expires in 2023......I bet iowa will be really be a hot tv item next year- lots of national exposure via espn and major networks. Lots of commercials promoting an upcoming game. And how thrilling it will be to go to a maxed out Carver

Dang Veritone.
Thats what I thought. i was responding to the poster who said we'd be on ESPN TV a lot next year. Uh, NO we won't. Not Unless the womens teams have different network providers.......Honestly, I think ESPN needs the B1G way more then the B1G needs ESPN. We'll see over the next several years......The Big Ten's new 7 year media rights agreement with Fox, CBS and NBC will begin July 1, 2023, and run through the end of the 2029-30 athletic year. It is set to bring in more than $7 billion.
Games will also appear on BTN, of course.

I think it's also part of the marketing ploy from ESPN to keep this hype train rolling through the offseason.Lets face it. If Angel doesn’t play against Caitlin Clark in the National Title Game, no one has any idea who Angel is and she's not winning an ESPY. The sport (and Angel) can thank Caitlin for the exposure.
She even brings back the "you can't see me." I think we've all see enough.

I don't really care, but as Reese accepted her award live, and Clark's award wasn't live it seems like ESPN thinks the 'break through player' is a bigger award than best college athlete. How the New Orleans media is spinning it.

Nah, just who was winning the award.I don't really care, but as Reese accepted her award live, and Clark's award wasn't live it seems like ESPN thinks the 'break through player' is a bigger award than best college athlete.
Obviously its not even close, and frankly, saying Clark was a break through player is funny, considering she led the nation on scoring and assists LAST season. If we're going strictly on the NCAA tourney saying Reese outperformed CC is laughable. Frankly we may have made a game of it IF she had NOT been in foul trouble. She wasn't even one of the three most impactful players on her own team in the title game. The whole evening was an ESPN/SEC love fest for LSU, so whatever. Even the skit they did with the LSU starting five did nothing but showcase that their combined IQ probably wouldn't top 100. Reese struggled through the skit worse then them all. But hey lets let her be a presenter and everything.I don't really care, but as Reese accepted her award live, and Clark's award wasn't live it seems like ESPN thinks the 'break through player' is a bigger award than best college athlete.
Nothing like showing your ass saying that Reese "outdid" Clark again because ESPN turned the show into an SEC home court advantage, Really, so breakthrough player, now somehow eclipses " BEST collegiate womens player". Maybe these folks down south need some education on just what "Best" means.......How the New Orleans media is spinning it.
