So you were crying just as much when he was underpaid?I wasn't "crying" because Lebron wasn't a white woman for Iowa. Nice take.

I do not understand what is so difficult for you to read and understand. I noted the binding collectively bargained salaries, which are based upon assumptions which are likely no longer applicable. A little different for Clark changing the viability math for a perennial money loser versus Lebron coming into an established money maker. Perhaps you cannot appreciate the nuance? But, to be fair, maybe Caitlin won't actually change the math, so perhaps this is premature. I suppose a way to look at this more of a PGA model where lots of guys don't win that much in actual purse money, but make a lot of money with endorsements. So you were crying just as much when he was underpaid?
I bet they make a shitload of money right out of the gate in ad revenue.if you think that's going to be sustainable, you should absolutely hop on stub hub right now. But secondary market speculation can be a real bitch.
Also, note that the League benefits very little from stubhub, so even accepting some short term spike in prices, it doesn't necessarily translate to long term league revenue growth unless the league thinks it's sustainable enough to raise prices 'next year'.
BTW, a word of caution. The Mystics stadium is not exactly in the best part of town, and that's saying something given that the Wizards' stadium is quickly becoming not the best part of town.
Well your original statement said her rookie salary is smashingly low.I do not understand what is so difficult for you to read and understand. You are either not good at reading for context, or you are good at it and selectively plucking a few words from a 112 word post make what you believe to be a point. Probably the former since you keep using the word "smashingly" which I did not use. At this point, I am not sure how many times I can repeat the context before you will understand it, so I am not sure what is left to discuss with you.Well your original statement said her rookie salary is smashingly low.
Was lebrons rookie salary not smashingly low?
If she’s good and changes the game she’ll get paid the same way lebron did.
You act like it’s such a shame she isn’t getting paid. I’ve clearly pointed out that it happened the same way to a different NBA star that had a similar following.
What’s so hard to understand?

You are a moron. I wouldn't say that on the basketball board, but clearly you are a reincarnation or alt handle some poster whose previous work I have not enjoyed.
I’m the moron because you don’t understand how salaries work in sports. You are a moron. I wouldn't say that on the basketball board, but clearly you are a reincarnation or alt handle some poster whose previous work I have not enjoyed.
No, you are a moron for not being able to distinguish the economic assumptions underpinning two different collective bargaining agreements, and how those agreements dictate salaries. One for a proven money maker, and one for a proven money loser. The result is the top 4 WNBA picks are locked in at 76K their rookie year, while poor ol' Lebron scraped by on $4.69M ($7.97M in 2024 dollars). What is happening for the WNBA is the inverse of black swan event. Instead of unpredictable economic disaster, they are reaping the benefits of an unpredictable economic boom. As for Biden's uncle, I have no idea what that means. Is that something from your Qanon message boards?I’m the moron because you don’t understand how salaries work in sports.
Thanks and enjoy that tenacious D. Were you the one that ate bidens uncle?
True. Last night I tossed my $35 into the ring for a WNBA season pass. Those are $35 heretofore I NEVER thought I would have spent. But, I only spent it for fever games. Maybe I will develop an interest in watching non-fever games for "scouting" purposes, but I currently have no desire to watch them for entertainment purposes.TV revenue will drive salaries.
How many people will tune in to watch wnba in the summer? Time will tell.
I watched more Iowa women’s basketball in the past two years than anything else besides NFL football. I watched only to see Clark. What I noticed was a lot of missed layups and seriously sloppy play. I had no interest in watching other games.
Time will tell.
This is the funny part of the whole WNBA salary discussion. Depending on who wrote the article, either Caitlin Clark is severely underpaid or Cardoso and Reese are severely underpaid. But anyone who pays attention knows that none of them make money, and in fact are not even guaranteed to make a roster spot. I mean, those three are, but I would say that not all of the 1st round picks will be on their team when the season opens.Did you cry this much when lebron was greatly underpaid as well.
He even went to a league that was profitable and had a similar following.
His high school was setting all sorts of attendance records while he was playing.
Fans went to NBA games to see him play.
I’m guessing you weren’t crying because he wasn’t a white women from Iowa.
I wonder what the WNBA will do when they expand. Will it be like the NHL where the new teams get to draft players from other teams, allowing Vegas to become an instant contender? Or do they just get the top pick their first year, and pick up what free agents they can? This is the funny part of the whole WNBA salary discussion. I'm pretty sure people will watch her first couple of games just to see how she does I don't know if they will be every week watchers religiously
If they were smart, they would let teams protect 4-6 players and let the others be available to draft. It probably depends on how many teams they add at one time. I know there is one team (San Fran) coming in next year, but they want to add 3 more to get to 16. There are also probably a lot of ex college players out there that never got a shot that are now overseas.I wonder what the WNBA will do when they expand. Perkins is an average bum basketball player. What endorsements did Perkins have in college? Imagine how much a school would pay for Clark if she entered the portal for her 5th year.
It would make Perkins look like pocket change.
right and clark is workin on an 8 figure shoe deal.Perkins is an average bum basketball player.
Why not? Does that emasculate you?right and clark is workin on an 8 figure shoe deal.
no? I'm merely pointing out that Perkins isn't even in the same planet as Clark when it comes to value. Why not? Does that emasculate you?
That I agree with.no? I'm merely pointing out that Perkins isn't even in the same planet as Clark when it comes to value.

Maybe they can bring you in as head scout and pay you $25,000. Make that league profitable.
Can I request a new Moral original? I proudly used Bo Jackson breaking an ISU bat over his head for at least 10 years. It would be cool having a gold goat like I have now wearing 22, but maybe eating a gummy.
