Chris Doyle doing live interview w/ Keith Murphy at 12:00 CT Today

So the same law firm that investigated also recruited players to join a lawsuit? Seems like a conflict of interest if this was supposed to be an unbiased investigation. IDK Or am I wrong & HB is not the firm who instigated the suit?? Not sure how to read this.
You’re confused. The internal investigation and the subsequent suit are separate and distinct. Both were extensively covered by national and local media organizations.

Doyle was loud and a prick in the Facility but He was no racist and that comes straight from the mouth of a former Player who is Kin and got His arse reamed many times in training by Doyle . So all You virtue signalling experts who have no real knowledge of the Team STFU , He was the best and Iowa lost the LOS and the respect of a good number of former Players when Kirk threw Doyle under the bus and kept Brian who acted the EXACT same way as Doyle. Both or none and it should have been none was the exact words I was told . There was not a single racist Coach on that staff , that is for certain. Hard asses who got loud and made harsh comments at times yes , racists no.

Some nuggets:

Chris Doyle said that he hoped that the case against the University of Iowa would go to court because “there was another side of this story that never got to be told.”

Says that once it got into the system and you saw depositions— “there was a very different story told than on social media.”

Did he have a gag order in place to receive his parting gifts?

Ferentz did what he had to do in the face of pressure from biggest the morons on the planet. I bet he regrets it to this day. I wish Kirk and the University didn't fold. Such a disappointment that any of htose idiots got a dime. Doyle should still be the S&C coach
Outside of being a racist prick, sure, he should still be at Iowa.

Did he force them to listen to country music?

When those harsh statements are directed towards one race more than the other, it certainly questions whether that person is racist or not. You are correct that Brian should have been shown the door at the same time Doyle was.

The nerve of Tristan Wirfs thanking Doyle after he got drafted. He must have turned a blind eye to all that racism!

Lol at all of this. Those 15 losers jumped on the boat of the everybody is a racist movement. They got their 40k payday which is all they wanted since they couldn't cut it like real players like Wirfs.

Hope Wadley enjoyed his new car. I'm sure he'll be pawning it soon. Hopefully his mom changed the fire alarm battery after he got paid

If anyone besides that buffoon Barta had been AD back then, Doyle would have been fired immediately, because Kirk would have been afraid that if he didn't fire him, then he'd be given his walking papers too. I've always been surprised that Iowa was able to get anyone decent to join the team after that, because it was national news.
Yep, fortunately recruiting didn’t seem to be hurt too bad.

No offense but I will rely on the investigation conducted by Husch Blackwell which specifically found that the program, mainly Chris Doyle, “perpetuated racial and cultural bias”.
Yeah, it is weird after all this time there are a bunch of posters on here that dont think Doyle was a racist or some such finding was made for Doyle's actions toward players. Isn't this a settled matter.

I am not wasting my time listening to this interview but what now Doyle denies he did this stuff?

Exactly. These guys weren’t good enough players, nor tough enough, to be Hawkeyes - let alone succeed in the NFL. They wanted some $$, and grabbed some.

Hawk alumni like James Daniels are the ones we fans should listen to. He credits Doyle and BF for helping him get to the NFL but also said change should begin with them. He wasn’t looking for a payout or insisting that people get fired.

Wirfs grew up in Solon with a white mom. I don’t think Doyle was racist based on skin color alone. He was racist towards a culture that was different than his own and let them know it often. If there are that many players and former players that had issues with Doyle, it was time for him to move on. Sorry you can’t see that through your biased glasses.

Ahhhhh... so Doyle was like, hey wirfs has a white mom, I should coach him completely different! Makes total sense for sure

I wonder if that same “objective” investigation would find that Deion sanders also runs a program that perpetuates racial and cultural bias because he also does not let players where hats and makes them show up on time to meetings, practice , and workouts.

Iowa, KF, and Doyle were easy targets based on the social narrative at the time and perfect storm of many events completely unrelated to football.

Doyle was likely an asshole and idiot - and you could argue that plus the rhabdo was plenty to get him fired. But the Iowa program got railroaded by the same forces that would have taken down 80% of the programs in the country if they also had the same “objective” investigation with the same pressures. Barta and the political pressures were the common denominator in both the Doyle and gambling “scandals” that again, 80% of the country would have been in the same boat.

Ps - I’m a liberal (independently thinking) - which is only relevant because of the social context that drove the entire sham!

No idiot. Wirfs grew up in about as white as an environmental as they come. Hell, Wirfs even listens to country music. The culture that Doyle routinely chastised wasn’t small town Iowa culture, it was big city urban black culture. He should have known better.

Man.. i love bone thugs and 2pac. Now you're calling me names???? Sounds like you're taking a page out of Doyle's playbook you racist.

Today I've learned Wirfs was free from systematic racism because he liked country music. Amazing

Somebody get this guy 40k so he can buy a Challenger!

I don’t believe Kirk threw Chris under the bus. I think Chris took a bullet. I also don’t think Chris was picking on black people. He picked on everyone. In that way he was like Dirty Harry Callahan; he hated everybody. Not literally, but symbolically.
But he caught up in a time when it was financially expedient to do so.

There were 15+ players that said Doyle had made many racist statements and treated the black players differently than the white players. That's the proof and cause.
Imagine spending 21 years at a job working with members of a race you think are beneath you, every day, by choice.

Kirk threw Doyle under the bus to save Brian too. Can’t forget that. They both should have been gone or neither one.
