At some point Steve Martin called DVD the most talented man ever on American television. That is hard to argue with. The Dick Van Dyke Show has to be one of the best shows ever. (And available on Blu Ray. Since the shows were filmed and not taped, other than being in black and white and the clothes and hair styles, it looks like it was made yesterday.)

It is amazing how he is physically and mentally still there at 99. Most people who get to make it to these ages are very diminished, not getting around physically and mentally like someone in their mid 80s.

In a related program now showing on HBO, there is a two hour in-depth about the TV career of Mary Tyler Moore…it was excellent!

I know Coldplay has a bunch of haters, but I challenge you to watch the extended directors cut of the video and not feel a sparkle in your eye - and maybe a tear. So beautiful.
