Two midweek games this week. Thought Tuesday was vs Grand View but now I see Clarke.

Why do we always seem to struggle with the non D1 teams? I get it we’re not throwing our best pitchers but shouldn’t our hitters be able to have batting practice on D3 pitching?

Michigan lost to an NAIA school last year midweek. It’s a crap shoot. We’ve scored 20+ runs against these teams too. Iowa plays non D1 schools from Iowa 4-5 times a year under Heller. We’ve yet to lose one and I am sure it will eventually happen. Just a numbers game. Good news is win or lose these games mean nothing for RPI.

Giving up 5 runs in the 9th was obviously costly. Only good news today is Whelan seems to be coming alive since being put at the top of the order.

There are many NAIA, Division 2 and 3 schools that can hang with the better teams with their #1 or #2 going. Just don't generally have the pitching depth to win a series.
