Iowa boys HS basketball touney

there is no reason they cannot sell enough advertising to make the games free

It's greedy BS and the schools and kids playing are the ones that get hurt by not allowing more people watch them play
Remember watching as a kid with Mark Zelich (“got a hunch… got a bunch”) and Frosty Mitchell. I am forgetting what channel carried the games in the CR/IC market.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck held to just 2 pts in the 4th Qtr as Bellevue Marquette pulls away to advance to the 1A Finals.

Side note, Marquette's coach is one of those f***ing nerds that's overly active/involved on the sidelines that we like to hate when we see B10 coaches act the same way (so I don't wanna hear any f***ing hypocrites on here chiding me for calling out this coach).

And then there's his assistant who is always standing behind him (even though you're only allowed one coach to stand during live play) mimicking everything the head coach does............

It's quite the spectacle.

Fwiw, the refs in this game struggled in the 2nd half, not that it really impacted the outcome for either team.

It’s obvious….the “fix” was in and the IHSAA was in full agreement. The game was rigged!

It’s Bellevue Marquette. They’ve been nerds/dorks for decades

Tigers pull away in the 4th to win 71-58.

Unless Bellevue plays a zone and Madrid chokes bombing away 3s, I don't see them losing tomorrow.

We'll see what the Marquette nerd squad/coaching staff in their nerdery can concoct defensively to slow down Madrid.

Going into the 4th qtr GR shot 16 ft’s to BM’s 4. No idea what end of game stats were but it wasn’t “rigged” for the 1st 3 qtrs.
Not rigged. Just inconsistent and missing calls. Has nothing to do with who won. Just evaluating their performance.

East of Woodward & north of Granger.

But yes. They’re all in a triangle. The High Trestle Trail Bridge is between Woodward & Madrid.
Having lived in Polk County these past 50 years, I am not familiar with these communities you speak of…. Natives have always referred to them as “Maderd” and “Woodard”…took me 20 years to figure out what towns they were from…

Woodward definitely has the best tourist attraction in the state.

The no.1 thing I do when I fly back to Des Moines or bring friends from out of state is bike the trail & have a drink at the Whistlin Donkey.

All of my out of state friends find the bridge the highlight of the Des Moines metro.

Probably why Woodward is painted by the luggage at Des Moines airport 🤣

You mean “Woodard”… right? My bride worked at the State School there for several years before entering a private practice…

Bike Trail system in central Iowa is a hidden gem. They need to market it nationally. Easily spend 2-3 days riding the trails and hitting bars breweries and restaurants. Should be a destination for cycling lovers.
