Iowa boys HS basketball touney

Seems like a typical high school game to me. Bad product on the court, bad coaching, bad reffing. The trifecta for you as to why you prefer this type of ball.
Why do you think all high school coaching in the state of Iowa is bad?

Because it's not college? It's not the NBA?

Show us on the doll where the people in your life hurt you to make you become one of those people.

:)

Iowa HS basketball isn’t that bad…not a lot of diversity or ethnicity in players…but statewide there is sufficient quality of players…
Parents have way too much influence in many programs (my opinion)… perhaps they need to play HS games at 10am on Wednesdays in empty gymnasiums….

Welp, NW Iowa is gonna get two State Champions after Western Christian rolls to another easy title win.

MOC-Floyd Valley survives a furious comeback by #1 Clear Lake to win the Class 3A title.

I know that West Lyon is also in NW Iowa so they're gonna get two champs regardless, but let's be honest, the small town of Hull with a population of 2,384 that produces all the tall players annually that can shoot lights out and learn the scientific fundamentals of basketball from the time after birth that their beady little eyes are developed enough to start watching game film, and yet they all conveniently disappear off the face of the f***ing planet when it comes to college basketball.........is going to win the title.

And no I haven't told you how I really feel, because this is a PG-13 show.

Bike Trail system in central Iowa is a hidden gem. They need to market it nationally. Easily spend 2-3 days riding the trails and hitting bars breweries and restaurants. Should be a destination for cycling lovers.
They just completed the stretch between Woodward & Perry to complete that monster loop into western Iowa!

Can’t wait to ride it. Heading back this summer.

We get a vacation Iowa commercial out here in Colorado & it does end with the Woodward bridge all lit up at night.

But ya, they need to market the endless trail system nationally way more than they do.

Bikers spend $$$

From Western Christian wiki page:

"The boys' basketball team has won eleven state titles (1985, 1991, 1969, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2024)."

Make it 12 baby

By the way, how in the hell are you from Iowa & not know about the High Trestle Trail anyway??

I was telling my wife about that & she was laughing & astonished.

And how in the hell are you from Polk County & not know about the High Trestle Trail???

When you drive by it all the time, who notices?
I was born and raised in Pella… I don’t pay attention to tulips either. Corn fields are no big thing either.

WF is a perfect venue to host it. Lots of traditional from the barn days.
I don't know that wF is perfect. Time will tell if ames is worse. I don't know if being across the street from Vets is tradition.
I don't know about the move either way but it will probably save the union some money in travel with all the teams from NW iowa playing.

This is a blow to the City of DSM and its Cgamber of Commerce. Not the blow losing the girls or Wrestling tourneys though.
Is there a scheduling conflict down the line for the DSM arena in the future?
They moved all of the tournaments up a few weeks years ago so that there wouldn't be conflicts if Wells wanted to host NCAA tournaments.

I thought the same thing, but I was told that it's difficult having the facility tied up for three weeks where no concerts could be scheduled and the local pro teams in hockey and basketball have to play all their games on the road. I don't know how much truth there is to that, but I can imagine they aren't as important as one would think.

Why does diversity on rosters matter? Get the best players, regardless of race or ethnicity.

WF was also more expensive to rent than Hilton will be.

If I were going I’d rather it be in Hilton. Easier in and out. Free parking.

That make business sense… wrestling and girls are tournament winners every year.
