Clark's illegal hold

I would like there to be no escape point if the top guy releases upon restart. All other escapes are one point, including in 'choice' situations. The "no point" escape can only happen on a restart and if the release is announced beforehand. To me, there is too much of a reward for a guy being given the freebie as compared to all the work the top guy did in getting the TD in the first place.
The simple solution to that is don't give a freebie. Not sure why a rule change is needed.

First off, I would not be opposed to making a pushout a half point. That seems like a great starting spot to me. A pushout is needed badly imo.

I'm completely against a move to make takedowns worth 3 points. I agree, that there is plenty of incentive to ride right now. I'm amazed that so few wrestlers focus on this position, with 4 point turns, riding time, and pins, the incentive is there. A 3 point takedown doesn't completely eliminate the incentive to ride, but it undoubtedly decreases it.

Totally agree here.

That makes no sense, and would lead to some weird results. Like, you'd probably see guys cut and release on a restart in the last 10 seconds of every period, taking their chances getting taken down in order to "lock-in" a 2-0 lead.

Also, many times the guy releasing on a restart is doing so precisely because the release even with the point given for the escape is more beneficial than riding.

Finally, the cut and release on restart would make it a lot easier to come back in neutral than it would otherwise be.

Completely against .5 point for push out. I'm guessing the hand signal for that is the middle finger ;). I am ok with push out as 1 pt. but we will lose the new found action on the edge of the mat with anything in. This rule has improved folkstyle dramatically by expanding the mat and giving the offensive wrestler more control on the edge (remember when kids would crawl to get a knee out). Push out rule shrinks the mat dramatically that's why you need to go to a bigger mat if you implement the push out.
