Tried to narrow it down and give a good cross section of time period, director, genre.

I just watched Requiem for a Dream yesterday for the first time. Great movie with an awesome ending.

That's a really solid list.

How about the original Muppets Movie? The cameos alone are worth it.

I saw 2 of those movies for the very first time just in the last month or so; Lawrence of Arabia and Last of the Mohicans. LoA wasn't what I expected it to be, but I enjoyed it. LotM, not so much.
L of A in many ways was an @educatiobak film” more than an entertaining film. It dies a great job if spelling out the arrogance of “the Allies” (western world) towards the Arabs and understanding their problems with establishing borders and failing to deal with them as tribes as opposed to nations. The discovery of vast quantities of oil only complicated this misunderstanding and lead the “civilized nations” of the world acting in rather uncivilized ways towards their Arabs brothers. The Arab distrust of “the West” is well deserved… and sadly, “the West” distrust of the Arabs is justified, too.

Muppets Christmas carol, where Michael Cain is treating it like he’s going to win an Oscar. It is a mindf$ck seeing all of the muppets doing muppet things around him, while he delivers a legitimate powerhouse performance.

I’ve never seen it. Your post intrigued me and I read the wiki page for the movie. Sounds really good. I plan to watch this weekend.

It’s a helluva movie…the key parts if the movie are tge ines a first viewing, you may choose to “ignore” as not relevant to the perceived theme if the movie.
Pay attention to what Sharif, Guinness, Quinn, and Ferrer say and compare it to what Rains and Hawkins say…. And understand that all this is running thru O’Toole (Lawrence)…. And Lawrence was right! ;)
A thinking man’s movie.

Love Raiders of the Lost Ark. But Lawerence of Arabia and Psycho are a step above it. Looking like it will be one or both of those.

Another great movie!
If you can find it...the Japanese version is worth a watch. I streamed it years back and will try to find it and pst here.

The movie was a coproduction with a Japanese film studio. Dives much more into the Japanese side of things. Have to watch it with subtitles though.

The Japanese parts of the movie are much more expansive....it was interesting.

It's the best version of the story.

Requiem for a dream takes me to a darker place in my mid/late teens & is actually kind of triggering, great movie!

All of these movies will eventually be part of rewatch discussions. Right now leaning towards Lawerence of Arabia this weekend or Psycho. Could do both. Although Lawerence is excessively long. Believe both movies can be streamed Psycho is on Netflix. Lawerence of Arabia Max. Otherwise think it’s 4 dollars on Amazon, Apple, etc etc
Well do Indiana Jones and Requiem the next weekend or time we do it.

Watching “Casablanca” right now…. Rick drinking in his closed cafe, after-hours, recounting and pining his love for Ilsa might be the greatest drinking /“flag carrying scenes” ever caught on film!
Bogey is great Rick..but Bogey was great as Marlowe, too…he was a great actor.

1. L of A. AINEC. The trick William Potter is not minding that it hurts. Lean’s best. His 3 picture run of The Bridge on the River Kwai, then L of A, and then Dr. Zhivago is hard to beat.

2A. The Shinning
2B. Raiders

3. Mohicans.
