@Clone Fans...what do you think about the new digs?

IMO the colors have brightened up. Not really a fan of that, so I don’t really like the red uni’s. I really like the white and black.

I have a long commute driving thru Des Moines...interesting convo on the topic.

Not sure why all the hate for the reds, I don't think they're that bad. But the design of the numbers on all of them is horrible. Another example of a designer thinking everything needs a design to it. Fugly. I love the blacks, yet another homage to the Iowa program from Campbell. I didn't see the 'ANF' sticker on the helmet but figured it was just the angle of the shot.

I like 'em.

Now, fix the lame logo.

OK, i've always wondered what folks would like to see (yes, i realize the vast majority of us are Hawks, but enough state fans are here). The bird swirling down the toilet from a decade or so ago was stupid IMO. I don't mind the current one, but what do you do when you're named for a storm, but your mascot is a bird?

and FWIW i think swapping the helmets on the red and white unis shown above might be a sharp look

They're fine with me, but the only opinion I care about is the guys who have to wear them. According to my daughter (no pic), I have enough trouble wearing clothes that even match.

You started the thread, you must like clown and cornholer fans posting here. Starting the pissing match and avoiding the discourse is pretty cowardly.

That’s a pretty bad post. Starting a thread about ISU’s uniforms doesn’t equate to starting a pissing match. Did I make fun of them? Talk crap about them? Nope. I was just curious what Clone fans thought.

From what I could tell on Twitter yesterday, a few honest Cyclone fans expressed some frustration about the black ones. The rest of the Cyclone fans said they love it because it somehow makes Iowa fans angry. I guess there were some Hawk fans claiming ISU stole our blackout uniforms or something.

I'm not that excited about the black uniforms, but I do know the current players love em. Also back in 1891, the school colors were black, silver, and gold.

You must follow weird people on Twitter. I like the black unis because I think they look cool. Most of the Iowa State people I know we’re annoyed at the Iowa comparisons. They are just great, clean looking uni’s IMO.

I don't know why any Iowa fan would be chaffed about the black ones. Total sign of respect from Campbell to KF and the Iowa program.

I don't follow any of these people that were making such claims. The people I follow are either media types that made a comment one way or the other, or friends that are fans of either school. As you know, with Twitter, if you click on the tweet, you see comments below it. That's where I saw all of this.

But to the point - I don't think there are that many people that like the black ones BECAUSE they think they look cool. The random ISU fans I saw tweeting said they liked the black ones because Hawk fans mocked them for using a color that the school doesn't even have.

Which brings me to this complete "little brother" of a gem, and yes, that is a real quote down below in bold:

https://www.brandmarketing.iastate.edu/brand-elements/color-palette/

Colors associated with other public institutions, such as the one on the eastern side of the state, should not be used.

Personally I think the Red and White are pretty slick...

The black? So little brother

Nice that ISU has a black uni. Love how teams ignore the tradition of team/school colors. Too bad the Hawkeyes didn't come out in red uniforms when the athletic department passed out all those red-and-white (and blue) pom-poms vs. Wisconsin a few years back. That would have been really awesome--and imagine the Badgers' confusion. Hey, maybe that's the answer to beating the 3-4: wear red.

Why does Isu keep changing there uniforms- there colors and their logo? Do they seriously think this is going to fix their football team?
