Probably because (at least in womens basketball) we don't lay down for THE OSU. We've had countless close crazy games, not to mention that total ASS whooping in the 2023 tourney final, beating them by 30 something. We must have forgot that the are THE Ohio State University....
I was on 11 warriors & I got the impression not every tOSU thinks she’s awesome. One said she’s not half as good as she thinks she is, another she hasn’t improved since her freshman year.

And some probably won’t find this popular, but I don’t find Angel to be near as big a shithead as this girl. Angel is ordinarily the kind of player I would get behind because of her hard work and her dedication to the craft of rebounding. The circus that comes with her can sometimes be a lot.

If you are trained to look for racist dialogue, you will definitely see it…. i’m not really sure what people expect, the whole entire world has looked at other ethnicities through the lens of patriotism and disdain for several thousand years. I’m not saying it’s OK, but there are some people, oddly enough white people, educated white people, that find themselves in some position of superiority, pretending like they are above it all and in the right setting, or the right “ethnic group“ and their guard is let down. It’s all just the same stupid shit.
Do better sure, I’m a monster proponent of that. But I don’t trust ANYONE who acts like they are above it. I have some great kids, I mean really great kids six of them. It is definitely more common with our fan base. Mostly because we have a higher percentage of white players (and white fans) so we tend to fall on that side of the cultural conversation. But you're right, morons gonna moron.
It's definitely not just an Iowa thing. But when Iowa fans keep getting into it with black players (especially ones who are very popular and have large fan bases) the perception of it being a problem with Iowa fans only becomes reality.
I just knew that sooner or later some snowflake would toss the R word out.
