Cody McMahon

Why is she discussed so much on the Hawkeye site.
There are a couple of reasons. First and foremost, she is the best player on a conference rival, who has claimed that Iowa specifically disrespected her program. Secondly, there is a vocal minority of Iowa fans who will call out black women who they don't like as a matter of principle.

Hence.....this thread.

No, she is not the best player on a rival league team. She’s a hypocrite and got called out for it, regardless of her skin color. But you do you.

For somebody who supposedly loves Iowa so much. You really go out of your way to make us look bad on here. Wish I was more surprised by this...alas.
Yet you have zero problem with someone in Iowa calling the President of the United States the "orange" turd? Or calling a Republican "white" trash?

You are obviously a racist person. If you didn’t view the world through racial eyes, you would know there are a lot of reasons some aren’t liked that have nothing to do with race.

Racist against whom? What are you talking about?

As usual, more than one thing can be true at the same time.
A) Some people are unequivocally and unrepentantly racist. It's baked into who they are and how they see the world on a daily basis.
B) EVERY criticism of EVERY person of color is not incontrovertibly racist by default.

By her own repeated actions and words on and off the court, she has proven herself to be a disrespectful and unsportsmanlike individual. Decrying as automatically racist the very thing (disrespect...real or perceived) that she defines as the ultimate affront when directed at her, is disengenuous and hypocritical.

You can't have it both ways. When you do to others the very thing that you cannot tolerate anyone doing to you, then you become fair game for a certain degree of criticism, regardless of your race or the race of those leveling the critique.

That having been said, calling her a hypocrite, unsportsmanlike, disrespectful or even characterizing her as someone attempting to use "racism" as a get out of jail free card to sidestep her own bad behavior are all arguments that have enough merit to at least be part of a civil debate.

Calling her "ghetto trash" on the other hand, is obviously and inherently racist, and does literally nothing to advance the discussion.

100%. Cotie McMahon sucks, no doubt about it. Her race, though, is irrelevant.

So just stick with 'Trash as a human being' is that what I am reading?

Still inappropriate, unkind and uninformed, but yes, no longer racist.
So flipping off the opposing crowd, claiming disrespect/racism when it doesn't exist and disrespecting opposing coaches is characteristic of a good person?
I was just trying to clarify what Doodle was doodling about. Care to inform us on why the comment was uninformed? or heck unkind? Is it the 'if you don't have anything nice to say' mantra you are looking for?

I don't think a thirty second snippet of someone's life - especially in a competitive setting is enough to label them "trash". It's just not enough information.

And yes, it is unnecessarily cruel to call someone you've never met "trash" on the Internet. Especially someone who is only guilty of playing a game in a way you don't like. The fact that this is even a debate shows how low this culture has sunk.

Trash people beat the shit out of their family, steal things that aren't theirs and abandon their kids.

Someone who flips people off while being taunted as they play a game is just a human in a bad moment.

Haven't met John Wayne Gacy(hyperbole) yet, reserve judgement on calling him trash? Once again, I was just attempting to clarify what Doodle was laying down so I can avoid being labeled a racist.
I will go with 'behavior unbefitting a person of high character' better? I have been guilty of that as well at times. I bet she appreciates your defense of her actions and standing in the disrespectful pantheon of the Iowa message board community.

Did you just compare her to John Wayne Gacy? I swear, what is happening to us?

You mean looking at how someone behaves when they're up against it and their character is being tested?

Lol. You should take a break.
