Colin Cowherd just ripping the Hawks wow

Finally decided to listen to it, and all I can say is "Wow!" There were so many things wrong with what he said I don't know where to begin. "Never once has KF gotten on a phone and asked to schedule a top 10 team." - What a bold, baseless statement. "I don't make things up..." B.S. - that's pretty much all you do. I think C.J. ought to go to his studio and do a little Jim Everett on Jim Rome action. What a hateful person; I feel sorry for him.
To be fair, I doubt any coach has gotten on the phone with any other top 10 teams (or non top ten teams). So what he is saying is probably correct. Also being fair, making the implication that other coaches do make these calls is pretty funny. Hell, why do any research when you can come up with this stuff. Personally I've always found Kirk's responses to these idiots to be pretty hilarious and also spot on.

Yes Iowa has played a less than stellar non conference schedule several times. At the end of the year they also played and beat several good teams mostly being an underdog it seems. All the while having very little talent and team speed... Makes me laugh at Cowherd.

Ok folks....why does Cowherd bash Iowa.....simple.....it only HELPS his ratings. He gets Hawkeye Nation to tune in to see how he is bashing us but the REAL upside is all the big market people LOVE him because he speaks the "truth" and puts Iowa in their place. He is a ratings chaser. No real value there for the fan that really understands the game.

Exactly. One could very easily think Iowa fans are a thin-skinned group based on how a portion of the fanbase operates on social media. Too many of our fans make a big deal out of things that are said by the media, whether it be a simple mistake or something a host said negatively about Iowa.

And yet some of you wonder why it was so annoying to listen to half our fanbase whine about the state of Iowa football over the last 5 years. It does get old, regardless of how upset you were with how Iowa was doing at football.

I always wonder if "Terry Stross" would be remembered by other fan bases

Cow turd is an idiot, but as been mentioned often, it's just a ratings grab for him. He does need to make 'news', why else would people tune in?

I know where Iowa stands in the CFB hierarchy, they are second teir. When they were getting hot again in the early to mid 2000's supposedly we went looking for big name match ups and couldn't get them.

We're kinda like ISU to Blue Bloods, beating us doesn't do much for them but losing to us would hurt badly. Bunch a chicken sh*ts

How in the world is 3-6 Georgia Tech rated above 6-3 Pitt by Sagarin? Pitt beat Georgia Tech head to head. Starting to think Sagarin really isn't objective and maybe has an agenda. Other than that Iowa has the 2nd best non-con win and 2nd toughest average opponent, behind tOSU, of all the teams listed . Florida and Florida State haven't played yet.

32/69 is the correct count on P5/Total Non-Con. You just can't add the ISU games on and not add them to the total LOL. just sayin.

Just kidding. My point still stands, soooo...deal with it.

P.S. why are you still counting years we haven't played yet? They really shouldn't even count against Iowa anyway considering the change to the 9-game conference schedule and the 7-home game requirement.

When the SEC goes to 9 games, I'll be very interested to see what teams like Florida, South Carolina, and Georgia do as far as ever playing more than 1 P5 team out of conference again. So what if all the in-state teams they play are better than Iowa State. Those are essentially as locked as conference games are. It really does take something significant for those schools to just say "hey, we're not gonna play the Florida-FSU game anymore." (And the funny thing is there are some Florida fans who would like it to be off-and-on like our fans want with Iowa State.)

NW has one of the top two out of conference wins in all of college football. They beat Stanford and the other is Clemson's win over ND. This thread though is about Colin Cowherd's rant about Iowa's OOC schedule.

I'd say the win over Wisky at Madison is our best win. I think they'll beat jNW on the 21st.

That's what will happen, but that's not what I want to happen. F*** Wisconsin. I leave nothing to chance. Lose a game so we don't have anything to worry about while trying to win the West. Thank you.

Cowherd stated that Wisconsin is a top 15 football program and Iowa is not. I can remember where Bielema couldn't beat Iowa until his last game against the Hawks where they won on a fake punt. Last yr. the Badgers barely beat Iowa and this yr. they lost to Iowa. Amazing on how far ahead of Iowa the Wisconsin football program is.

Average Scoring Margins:

Ga Tech = +.5
Pitt = +1.5

According to Sagarin: Georgia Tech schedule > Pitt schedule

Why is this so hard? It's a ranking based on opponent adjusted scoring margin. Wins don't matter! (in his world)

Is Pittsburgh really that much better than Georgia Tech (or visa versa?). Why even play the games if we have ranking systems? Georgia Tech is ranked higher than Pitt so Georgia Tech will win 100% of the time, right?

Also, put the ranking in context. Sagarin's model says Georgia Tech is .5 points better than Pittsburgh. Big deal.

Just FYI major nonconference (including Big East and Notre Dame) games scheduled since '99 when KF tenure began:

Iowa 30
Georgia 28
South Carolina 25
Florida 22
Vanderbilt 21
Tennessee 18
Kentucky 17
Auburn 17
LSU 15
Missouri 14
Alabama 14
Texas A&M 14
Arkansas 10
Mississippi St 8
Ole Miss 8

Aside from the Turd's obvious trolling, the Turd is probably lurking these MB's looking for the fallout of the Iowa fan base and laughing.
Go Hawks and finish the deal, just to see these "experts" squirm.

If this guy had been around in 1939 he would have been dissing the Ironmen and Nile Kinnick. Anyway, this is college football, and no matter how big a business it has become, these are 19-22 yr. olds.

I want to address my fellow Hawk Fans here:

Do not Tweet, E-mail, or otherwise contact this guys show. Ignore him. I wont watch the clips or listen to any of it or respond to it in any way. Thats what he wants. You look foolish when you say things like "No one listens to you". In fact you make us all look bad. So, please ignore him. I am glad he is off radio around here. I never listened to him. THe ads I heard were bad enough.

Thanks.
