COMMIT: Iowa Lands Three-Star Indianapolis Guard Cameron Herron

Everyone's first mistake with recruits is expecting any kind of loyalty. These are kids that can't be trusted. Until they've arrived on campus and wearing black and gold, don't assume they're actually going to be a Hawkeye. This is a rule I live by and I've never been disappointed.

and now they can leave anytime they want, including midseason, and be immediately eligible next season

Meh. It's his choice. Not going to bang on a guy for doing what's best for his future. Sucks to see him commit and then decommit but he's young and it happens. Wish him the best.
Use the ride for another WR or CB , We took a ton of OL in the last few classes and have 2 in this Class . Rather Phil get another Guy or Lester get another WR that He likes for His offense.

LOI's are no longer a thing. Verbal commitments never were worth the paper they're written on... With current state of rules we could see someone play (& get paid) for 5 different schools in their careers. Free agency without contracts.

Verbal commitments mean nothing. How about letting the players sign anytime? Commit and sign binding scholly. No backing out.
I hate it but who here would not change their job if offered $100K more salary. Do not know ND offered?

As soon as someone commits sign a contract with stipulations. But then again under 18 and you can't do that. Theres not a good fix for this. Slow death coming for many programs/
