No, this is not about C@C and WNO.

There are like 8 threads about the wrestling at Kinnick (9 if you include this one). Use this thread to decide which one to discuss the event on and consolidate all your thoughts pertaining to the Grapple on the Gridiron on that thread. At least narrow it down to 2 or 3.

Get the Bear some coffee this morning. Dude woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Also I don't disagree with your post though.

Maybe it was the blatant undercutting of Trump by Fox during and after last evening's debate that has me feeling some type of way.
Seriously though, both posts were in jest. If that makes any sense. ¿Seriously in jest? o_O

LOL I agree Bear. I am democrat who watched a rep debate just for Trump. I think myself like many like what he is doing by challenging the system and the system doesn't like it (Fox, Media etc). It was BS fox comes out of the gate just like that. The agenda was clear. Those dummies actually help Trump without knowing it.

Trump is a breath of fresh air that tells it like it is. But I think many like myself love going after the media and the over PC crowd and calling other leaders idiots when they really are, but in the end most wont want that as president. He is this election Herman Caine at the moment. I think many would vote for a campaign spending cap and to do away with the whole either a D or R thing. Because many vote for that, not the candidate. My dad is an R so am I. So the nominees never matter because just that whole D vs R will have the race close to 50/50 regardless and what party can get more of them to the voting booths in the swing states.

IMO Rubio is laying in the weeds and will emerge as the favorite and could be the best chance at beating Hilary. He is young, has the minority vote as well. He can win back FLA. I could go on but the guy would be stronger nationally in a R vs D than he is in his own party right now.

Just my thought from the other side. Im not really pro Hilary either.

Now que the can we just talk about wrestling comments. I agree but give it a rest, there are only so many times you can refresh and reread the same posts. I like the fact that this board can veer off and be like Trump, outside the box. That's what I like about this board. The passion, And the people who complain about this board are pry on this board more than us.

Did you watch the post-debate coverage on Fox? The three hosts and a couple pundits went on and on for a couple hours patting themselves on the back. At one time or another they said all nine candidates (other than Trump) had a great debate.
Then the NY Times this morning says Trump stole the show.
I agree with your contention. By trying to bushwhack Trump, they are only feeding the monster.

So somebody going to move this meaningless thread to the political forum? ☺
Agree. I don't want to hear anyone's personal & meaningless political views here on the HR wrestling forum. There are plenty of hate-filled, ignorant forums to express uneducated views on the stagnant and un-Constitutional political climate that our nation has devolved to. Let's keep it to wrestling folks.

This has been an unpaid, non-political, non-advertisement and is the express view of AFHawk.

Yep, the NY Times wants to build Trump up because they know he can't win the general election and Fox News wants to rip him apart for the same reason. Pretty transparent in both cases.

Met Trump once at Mara Lago (sp?) at a corporate event. Was incredibly gracious, but he refused to shake my hand. Later learned that he's a serious germaphobe. Hard to be a politician if you don't want to press the flesh. Sorry. Know it's not wrestling, but it's my only Trump story.

Stroker never wavered from Minnesota
I know and he has signed his LOI, but with PBSs son going to the same school it was the very first thing that popped into my head. After further though it made no sense, but it was still the first thought.

Most viewers watched this debate because of the Trump factor. Marketing the debate grade: A+, lots of hype. [Not unlike the Iowa vs ok State Outdoor Wrestling Event in Kinnick Stadium, the hype was and will be part of the show.]

Fox News did a terrible job in choosing the opening series of questions. All were extremely negative and controversial, particularly the first series of questions to Trump. The debate audience needed a chance to hear from each candidate before they attempted to embarrass and belittle them. Fox gets an unexpected F. [If Brands and Smith use the outdoor event as a pre-season tune-up and rest or protect certain wrestlers they will get an F as well. This should be a winner take all atmosphere.]

Trump did a poor to failing job during the debate related to his answers to most of the topics he addressed. Trump gets a generous D as he predictably let things get personal. [Bigger stage, bigger mats (bring back some extra large mats from the 70s). No where to run or hide.]

Undoubtedly, Trump is good for the political process within our country. He is teaching these career politicians that it is ok to speak his mind truthfully and do it in a blunt manner. He believes what he says. People are tired of the BS double talk and non-answer denials--see the Clinton definition of "is." [Our event could spark a renewed interest in the sport. Would be nice to have some part of the Iowa Presidential Caucus Debates wrapped into our outdoor wrestling event--perfect venue for confrontation.]
