170- 301 56.5% 1926 yards for a avg of 148.2 ypg 17 TD's and 10 INT's QB rating of 122.3
Stanley thru 7 games 116-201 1523 yards 57.7% 217.6 ypg 16 TD's 3 INT's QB rating of 144.2

for a increase of 69.4 ypg increase in the Passing Game

Wadley total yards thru 13 games in receiving and rushing, 1396 yards for a avg of 107.4 ypg
2017 836 total yards for a avg of 119.4 ypg that = a 12 ypg increase.

hmmm looks like the offense is clearly better than last year
Kittle in 13 games 22 catches for 314 yards
Fant thru 7 games 16 catches for 232 yards.

people just look to Beeach about anything for no reason other than to Beeach.

Jesus... I didn't realize polishing turds was a hobby. You'd think that eventually a person gets tired of the smell of crap, not Kilroy. Nooo, no. As long as the turds come from this team, he begs for more.

Hey turd lover, Why don't you tells us how our offense ranks compared to the rest of the country? I already know the answer. I just want to see if you will actually take a look.

Maybe if we won more people wouldn't beech. Every other coach would've been fired after the 2012 4-8 season or even before that but apparently KF is special or something. We needed to get him the all time Iowa sin record no matter how long it took, right?

No other reason?? The reasons here are endless > http://www.jhowell.net/cf/scores/Iowa.htm What was so bleeping great about 2016 anyway??

I'll admit our recruiting has been off and to me that is the reason for the narrow margin of whether we win or lose. If that picks up than we'll be okay. I have faith, the sky isn't falling. Last year after PSU it looked much more bleak and other than the bowl game it turned out okay.

Your serious, aren't you?

yes I am as for recruiting after those3 straight year of recruiting classes in the 50's these were the last 2
2016 41st of which 8 played as true FR
2017 40th of which 10 have now played
going from the 59th rated class of 2015 to a improved class of 41 in the 2016 class is a sign of improved recruiting of 18 positions.
this class has 3 new coaches that have been added to the staff that are now working on the 2018 class
QB Coach KOK
WR Coach in Copeland
OL Coach in Polasek
and if any of you are following the feature of following the future the Iowa staff is bringing some to notch offensive players and a couple of big DT's. in Shannon and JUCO player in Nixon. with a good shot at Waggoner.

All those stats are great, but I'm afraid you've omitted one very important thing. That being points per game. I'll have to do the math, but I'd bet it's down from last year.

Yes dude the recruiting has gotten better. It physically had to or it would have cost KF his job. Yes these classes seem to be even better. Yes, we are playing alot of youth and that will pay dividends in the future. No, I still don't have an idea of what point you are trying to make.

Just checking. You do realize with these new and improved numbers, Iowa lost Saturday. Send these numbers to the players, I'm sure it will make them feel better.

1-3 in the B1G with the "signature win" vs. 0-4 Illinois at home. Just what does "bleak" look like in your little world?

you are wrong the 2016 team was 96th at 24.9 ppg
the 2017 team is 81st avg'g 26.1 ppg THIS years team is ahead of last seasons offense in every category.

suck to beeatch about something that nobody know anything about, thinking about what this team will look going Forward looks pretty damn good.

the OL loses just 1 player in Welsh
1 RB in Wadley
1 WR in Vandeberg
hmmm that looks like a group that can be replaced,
Welsh by either RSJR Levi Paulson, SR Render or SR Reynolds
Vandeberg by SO Brandon Smith
Wadley by either RSSO Young or SO IKM. or as a tandum with RSSO/JR Akinrabi being the 3rd down back. as I have not heard if he is RS'ing

What are you guys complaining about? ... We are only going to lose our best o-lineman (sorry jd), our best running back we have had in a few years, our leading receiver(sorry Easley, love you bro, but those 4 drops hurt your stock)..... and 3 senior linebackers. Don't worry on a team of 85 scholarship player we have guys that will come in behind them...... it's football Kilroy there is always going to be a guy behind them.

Okay, I did the math. Excluding the bowl game (where we scored 3 points) we averaged 26.75 points per game in 2016. So far this year, we've averaged 26.14. So I guess it depends on how you want to calculate the answer.

You are also comparing data sets that are not the same. Are the numbers more likely to "improve" as we get away from OOC or decline as we face better defenses like you are comparing with the year end stats. I'll put you like this Kilroy, if we keep our average over 26 after OSU and WISCY I will send you a Christmas ham.

Are you saying Kirk Ferentz is a sinner???

you can't cherry pick and leave out the 13th game.
these were the teams on Iowa schedule for the 1st 7 games
Miami of Ohio
ISU
FCS NDSU
Rutgers
NW
Minnesota
Purdue

looks like this years schedule is stronger
Wyoming 4-3
ISU 5-2 now ranked #25
NT 4-3
PSU #2 in the polls 7-0
MSU # 16
Illinois ONLY TEAM with a losing record
NW 4-3
hmm how about that Iowa has played 6 teams with a winning record with 3 of them ranked in the top 25 and 1 ranked #2 and you want to wait till they play better teams,

I left out the bowl game because unless you are in the playoff, bowl games have become nothing more than exhibition. They have been becoming such for years, but now that players are skipping them to prepare for the NFL combine, they've completed the process.

CJ was a winner, he made plays with his feet to keep drives alive. Stanley isn't necessarily bad, but the eye test comparison is noticeable.

CJ had 83 yards for a negative 13 yards and was sacked 30 times
Stanley has been sacked 11 times.
you need new glasses
Stanley passes the eye test just fine 116-201 1513 yards 16 TD's 3 INT's 11 sacks QB rating of 144.2

your problem is Stanley has not gone over 3000+ yards passing 30 TD's and 1000+ yards rushing and Iowa is not ranked #1 this season, time to get over yourself.
as a JR and as a SR CJ only threw for 17 TD's in a season including the 2015 season, JR in his 1st year as the starter had these for stats
204-346 2389 yards 18 TD's with a QB rating of 126.5 in 13 games
Stanley need just 1 TD pass to catch CJ's best season and 2 to match JR's 1st season as a starter
going back to the year when Tate was a 1st year starter
233-375 2786 yards 20 TD's
CJ is on pace to shatter the 1st years starters TD #'s and will pass both JR and CJ in passing yards in his 1st season as the starter,

you can't cherry pick...

says the guy who gives total ypg for AW who was splitting time last year with Leshun Daniels. try comparing ypc year to year:

2016 full season 168 carries for 1081 yards, avg of 6.4 ypc
2017 thru 7 games 145 carries for 573 yards, avg of 4.0 ypc

he has had a better year receiving than last year, but his rushing production has been way down. and anybody watching the games didn't need me to tell them that.

had Daniels last year providing similar numbers to Wadley - don't have that this year.

CJ probably would have hit some of those long passes Nate has missed on. CJ never really given those opportunities.

Or perhaps teams feared CJ's deep ball more than they do Stanley's? Defenses are stacking the box to shut down the run and Hawks haven't been able to beat them deep?

There's not really that much of a difference between 50 and 40. Could just mean the other teams signed more players that year. Also, the offsensive line has gotten considerably worse from last year to this and who is the coach that was brought in for that? Oh yeah, Polasek. Terrible hire IMO

of course it is since a pair of 5TH YEAR SR were replaced by True FR in Wirfs and a RSFR in Jackson, Outland Trophy and NFL 1st round pick Scherff didn't start till his RSSO year to bad Wirfs and Jackson are not performing up to what RSSR Scherff did.
