That was the most physical game I've seen in a while. You guys were bringing the lumber all night. I was actually surprised we didn't fumble after a couple of the big hits. I was expecting a very tough game, but thought we’d break a couple big downfield passes or jet sweeps to loosen up your defense. Your coverage in the secondary was excellent especially in the first half. The LB hit LB Cook (2nd quarter ?) was crucial…I think it affected his accuracy the rest of the night. Also, I know all your backs are good, but losing Canzeri was a tough blow that I don’t think the announcers mentioned enough as far as affecting the game.

This was another in a long line of MSU-Iowa nail biters. From Decker stopping Shonn Green on 4th down in 2008, to Stanzi and McNutt stunning us on the final play in 2009, to your come from behind OT victory that spoiled our homecoming in 2012 and set us on path to lose all our Big Ten home games that year.

This board has been very respectful of MSU and our rivalry. Yes, some harp on the faked injury (understandable) and a few others on Dantonio being lax on discipline, but overall very respectful to the MSU program. However, I have to call out Broth87...because he wolfed that Iowa would beat down MSU. His words were a little harsher but being that I don't use profanity I won't repeat them. Another surprising thing he said was that Iowa would "punch Sparty in the mouth" and beat us down over 4 quarters. Others here (Drinkin Buddy) cautioned him about physical domination talk because we’re both tough teams, but he just doubled down. Now to come here 24 hours later to read nothing but excuses from him is interesting.

Best wishes in the Rose Bowl…you definitely deserved it over tOSU and I'm glad you got it. I'll be rooting for you to take down Stanford and I think you will.

Thanks, I agree it was a brutal, physical, black and blue slugfest. Both teams brought it. I didn't think your defense was that good but they showed up. Where was that d against nebby?

I hope you kill bama.

What a joke! Iowa did punch you in the mouth. Made your quarterback look very average. The fact of the matter is NEITHER Z team was capable of putting 22 clean plays in a row against the other one the way the defenses played. And yours didn't. Your oline got away with murder. Go watch the plays. I rewatched the whole drive because I didn't believe you could've done it. Kirk Herbstreit said yesterday the officials were watching a different game in the 4th quarter. Guess I'm not the only one that saw it all. Any of a whole series of penalties that could've been called on that drive get called, that drive ends up on the arm of your quarterback and I LOVE Iowa's chances in that situation. Final scoreboard said you won so congrats. But if you think that was a clean drive, you don't know a damn thing about football. If I knew how to link the video evidence, I'd show you.

Save it, dude.

So we got all the calls and as usual Iowa got screwed by the refs. Give me a break. How about the holding all night on Calhoun and McDowell? Guess you missed that. I thought you only complain about the refs when you play MSU in hoops? I guess I was wrong.

Nebraska's o-line dominated us. They were just super pumped...night game vs top 5 team...their season spiraling out of control...they brought their A game and our defense didn't make enough plays. No sacks and blew a 12 point lead in the last 6 minutes. Credit Nebraska for the comeback. It just goes to show its really hard to survive each week and that is why I scoffed at people that tried to downgrade Iowa being 12-0. It's really hard to be on every week.

Yep def punched us...especially Lomax...and you did make Cook look tentative and mediocre, but we can give as well as receive punches and that was my point in your original post. Anyway I'm not disputing their were missed calls. But we had 174 rushing yards to 52. And any coach will tell you can't put yourself in position to have refs decide it. You guys had plenty of opportunities to stop Scott short of the first downs...but he fought and got to the marker each time. Credit his effort instead of focusing on the refs.

Now bring home the Roses and punch UM in the mouth at Kinnick next year. We'll renew our grudge match in 2017.

Iowa had many many opps in that game. Stings to lose like that but both teams beat the crap out of each other. I do hope MSU beats Bama. I think they have the lines to do it.

I for one would love to play Michigan State in next years conf. Championship! That game last Saturday was a slug fest. I'm also glad that Calhoun is graduating, guys a total beast.
Good luck to Sparty, I hope you beat the crap out of Bama!

MSU is as physical as they come and has been for a while.

This is the first time in a few years Iowa has gotten back to being on that level where we feel like were supposed to be and it was a very good game.

Iowa made a huge mistake going for that punt block and that swung the game.

I hope like hell you can beat Bama, Would be incredible for the perception of the conference to beat them back to back years on the big stage.

Thank you and congrats to you guys, what a great game.....funny thing is now Broth87 is blaming the refs for the loss....I am a huge Iowa fan/Homer and I can not even come close to thinking it was nothing short of two great teams beating the shit out of each other for 40 minutes and unfortunately somebody had to come out on top, this time it was not us.

Dude give it up, it was nothing more than one team scoring more points than another.....the game was settled by the players on the field and nothing more and nothing less.....you can rewatch the game 10000 more times and the outcome remains the same....furthermore, I watched the final drive and it appeared to me that they had a few players make some really crucial small plays to get a few inches to prolong the drive, nothing more and nothing less....sounds to me you are getting what you deserve, I hate when fans talk a whole bunch of shit before a game as if they know the outcome of the game, especially when they are associated with my favorite team
