Congrats to Iowa State

I'm pretty sure that Linn County has a large number of ISU grads. Not sure how it compares to Story County, or Polk County, but it is a significant number. Something to do with Collins Avionics.

The only people here in CR who are rude and stupid about the CyHawk rivalry ARE Tavern Hoks. It's fine when UI grads give me a little good-natured shit. It's part of the rivalry which makes it fun.

It's those people who will randomly give me crap in public when (like today) they make a smart ass comment like "Go Sun Devils" or "Your team sucked yesterday". No kidding dipshit. I watched the game too.

I don't give those people the time of day but when someone I know makes a "ISU sucks" type comment, I ask them why. Give me a reason. Have you ever been to Iowa State's campus? Do you know anything about the University other than their football team was horrible during the 80's and 90's. These are the people who drive me nuts.

All fan bases have their fair share of dipshits, ISU included. You cheer for your team, and I'll cheer for mine. No need to be an ass about it.

Good luck to both teams in their bowl games, and I hope for two good basketball games this week. Both games will be interesting. I expect Iowa women to win, and expect Iowa men to shoot about 90% from 3. 😀

Another case in point. Just unwarranted rude + juvenile comments. Finally, your anti-farming comments contradict the ANF sticker you so proudly claim.
It's not "anti-farming," it's anti-corporate/industrial farming many of which's most destructive/anti-small family farming practices were invented/created through Socialism at ISU.

Because Iowa and Cade grabbed defeat from the jaws of victory against the Cyclones earlier in the year and squandered numerous chances to make the season memorable. And ISU has certainly made their season memorable.
I think ASU just scored again. So memorable. Now the clowns have to hope Miami has massive opt outs so they don’t get plunked again.

We want more. We want more. We want more.

Who did we play (besides Ohio State) in that actual conference?!? The answer is not Michigan or USC or Penn State or Oregon or Indiana. We have Brian Ferentz to continue to thank for not having a quarterback and bringing in and sticking with a guy like Cade McNamara to lose us the Iowa state game.
So Kirk gets a pass? You really don't know how a major college football team works, do you?

Heck of a ride for those Iowa State Cyclones. Just as Matt C said postgame it started with facing all that adversity at Kinnick. He didn’t mention Cade by name but Cade was big for the Cyclones that day.
You know a bowl game means a lot when a starting QB hangs it up at halftime. These non-playoff bowls are meaningless scrimmages.

Credit to Deion, he has his son and Travis playing. Number 1 and 3 projected in the draft.
Deion said get your ass out there.
Building not just football players, but men.
Honor your commitment.

After what Cam Ward did today, I respect those CO players for playing (assuming they play the entire game tonight). If Deion made them play, good for him as well.

I understand Higgins + Porter not playing, and would've been ok with Ward not playing as well. It is obvious now he was chasing Keenums record over the team. NFL execs notice that sort of thing.

You’ll smile should the Hawks flounder under new leadership which is inevitable? Yeah, real fan you are. lol
Next year will mark 40 years of season tickets. We still make the nine hour drive to see our Hawks. Attended my first game in 1964. Yes, I'm a Hawk fan!

I said, I'd smile thinking about the Kirk Ferentz bashers after he leaves. It will be difficult to maintain Kirk and staff's abilty to develop players and have stability in the program. When Kirk retires we plan to give up our season tickets. Hope Hawks can keep their winning ways, just not that confident.

I’m not following. I’ve had season tickets longer but you are that loyal to someone who isn’t that loyal to you?!? Someone who doesn’t put the program first, is first in your eyes??

Apparently you are now a Kirk Ferentz fan, not a Hawk fan.

I didnt hear Campbell's postgame remarks about the game at Kinnick. What adversity was he talking about that his team faced in Kinnick?

I remember the first half as his team couldnt move the ball and Iowa could have easily been up 21-0. I would say ISU was lucky that day because Iowa had a QB with such bad knees the coaches wouldnt even let Cade try a QB sneak on first and goal from the 1 1/2 yard line when up 7-0.

All I know about yesterday's game was that neither team played any defense in the first 20 minutes. To start the 2nd half Miami with a woefully inadequate QB ran the ball down ISU to take the 10 point lead. And with Cam Ward the game was probably 52-38 Miami. Hell, Miami didnt even have their opted out top receiver.

I and a ton of hawk fans know the bowl win against Kentucky was much easier without their having Levis in there. I would say that Cam Ward looks to be an awesome qb at the college level.

At first I was kind of laughing that the Clones ended up here, but for better or for worse a lot of people pay some attention to the gimmicks. And I think we’re going to see these other bowls start to lean into that more in order to make/keep themselves relevant. And they won 11 games. Full credit to them on a solid season.

I loathe ISU but can be authentic and give them their credit. Great coach and a great win. They clearly are moving in the right direction as a program, something I envy as a die hard Hawkeye fan. They should be able to maintain 8-10 wins annually with the soft conference they are in.

He was referring to trailing late and needing a score at the end to win. They got the ball on their own 22 with 33 seconds left and no time outs. ESPN Gamecast had Iowa at a 90% chance to win at that point.
