Unfortunately the gun laws suck in France and they could hit anywhere. Very little police presence when we visited. Italy had way more police on the streets. The strict gun laws in France doesn't help either. It's like a gun fight in Chicago only bad people have them.

Why are experts surprised that they can pull something like this off? Saying that it takes a lot of training to do this. I don't see where one minute of training is needed. All you need is a few weapons and a crowded place. I'm surprised it doesn't happen every day

Well......since Terrorist are "criminals"........statistics show that criminals typically avoid targets that might put up resistance or fight back.
The point of terrorism is to create maximum impact as a result of your actions. If you lesson the impact, it's far less effective.
I think the more comical thing to point out, is that you think every gun owner is some untrained, backwoods, idiot that doesn't know anything, let alone defend themselves.

In order to obtain a CCW permit you have to attend a wkd course and know how to handle your weapon. I can't speak for others but I grew up as a kid hunting so I'm very comfortable around guns and understand their power. You would be surprised who carries weapons in the US. Most small business owners in retail carry a weapon since they carry cash to and from bank. How often do you hear about them losing their heads with their weapon? Bottom line is I would act if the situation called for it and I'm just your ordinary joe in a suit that is not afraid to light up a bad guy. It would never occur to me to use weapon in heat of the moment for your everyday road rage occurrence like you libs make it out to be...
