It took him his tenure at ISU to learn how to do questionable things and then when he went to Creighton, he was better equipped.Because his son was still in high school then.

Creighton lost it’s starting five that made the sweet sixteen and had lost its top recruit to Kentucky. Somebody said Creighton this next season will have five top 150 players coming off the bench. We’ll see, if by there’s really a crackdown on pay for play; they may start at Creighton. You aren't the first person to ask that question. He recruited some good players (although he didn't recruit his son). Lost several really good players for various reasons.Why was he so bad at ISU then?
