Croston, Ferentz, and McCarron at the Super Bowl

That is awesome. I can still remember several threads complaining that Croston (walkon?) wasn't even a D1 player... he sucked and we all know that J. Ferentz only played because of his dad.. and then McCarron (walkon).... slow white guy who shouldn't even be on the field.
4 years ago NOBODY would have predicted that these 3 would be in the NFL, let alone preparing for a SB.
None of them will likely play in the game (maybe Croston) but could all end up with a super bowl ring.
Hard work is a wonderful thing; KF should send that picture to every single walk-on!!

Here's an article and video about Cole and his dad Dave, who of course also played at Iowa and in the NFL. Nothing groundbreaking, but does have some pretty cool shots of Dave and all his Hawkeye stuff.
Shows that Belichick is firm believer in Iowa players who come from coaching system of KF. KF system of development of players is well known in NFL and if you are willing to be coached, can have opportunity in New England and elsewhere.
It will be interesting to see if Croston can earn a roster spot next year, whether in NE or elsewhere, hope it works out for him. James Ferentz has carved out a nice little career in the NFL, already possessing one Super Bowl ring with the possibility of the second, provided practice players get a ring too, which I suspect they do at New England. With that being said, still won't be rooting for the Patriots this weekend, just can't do it

Pretty good. Id like to see Mcarron get into an Amendola type tole on Sundays. James is getting alot of valuable access to and experience in the NFL. Hope he gets a few years of coaching experience after playing. Then he can bring that back to Iowa.

Great shot! Did you take this shot Homer? As has been mentioned, Belichick has an eye for under appreciated and undrafted talent.
Ferentz is great at developing these kids, and for the most part, Iowa is only a couple players away from being a Big West contender and being a mediocre field filler. It seems like recruiting has got better since 2015, and with former Hawks getting publicity, along with the spotlight on Josey, Desmond and JJ maybe we can get that player or two that will make difference between contender and field filler.

We have to have one of the highest consecutive streaks with having at least one player in the SB, can anybody find that information and post? I’d say we are top 2 or 3 in BT.
