Great win but I'm pissed off. The whole CFP thing is a beauty contest. You can't lay off an Indiana like they did after the King pick. Three runs and a punt? Eff that you have to kill em because its a beauty contest and FSU's loss looks better than Iowa's win.

Step on the throat please and make the committee love Iowa.

Not sure they were laying off. But made IU use their TO's.

But I do agree the "explosive" crap is stupid.

But we also can't change who we are. Just win the effing games.

While I obviously wanted to see Indy get bitchslapped,I disagree with your thoughts.

Today's playcalling was on point. Given the situation, clock management was key, and an incompletion or two would have only helped kept Indiana alive. Needless to say, clock stoppages are HUGE when the other team is still within striking distance.

Was it a win?
Was it a Big Ten win?
Was it a Big Ten win on the road?
Was it a Big Ten win on the road in November?
Was it a Big Ten win on the road in November to remain unbeaten?
Yes? The committee can STFU.
Ayuh. Pretty much this. Quitcher bitchin. I expected Indiana to be tough and maybe they were a little tougher than expected. Take the win and move on.

i wouldnt go so far as to say pissed off. i completely understand what you are saying, it would have looked amazing if iowa up 35-20 took the ball and scored making it 42-20 instead of 35-27. but you also have to accept a hard fought win against a full strength indiana. you have to remember qb sufeld and rb howard have missed time the last few weeks other wise i think their record would look a lot better.

If this season has taught me anything it's that some people really never will be happy.

It's really amazing isn't it? I'm a lifelong Cubs, Bengals, Hawk fan. I saw Cubs fan's bitching losing to the Mets in the NLCS when they weren't even expected to make the playoffs. I see Hawk fans bitching when they're 9-0 and in the CFB playoff hunt, I see Bengals fans bitching when they're 8-0 and having the best season in the history of the entire franchise.

The Cubs lost, it was disappointing but it was an absolute blast to watch them play. If the Hawks lose, it will be disappointing but it has been an absolute blast to watch them play. If the Bengals lose in the playoffs, it will be disappointing but it has been an absolute blast to watch them play.

It's so much fun to watch your favorite teams play well and win, it is crazy to me how some people can't just enjoy the moment and live in it.

According to the CFP committee, teams should be ranked higher based on their explosive offenses. Is there a way to make footballs out of C4?

They've gotten to 9-0 for, what is it, maybe the third time in school history?
I'm not going to worry about the beauty contest aspect. It's now all uncharted territory. IF they get to 10-0 next week, no matter how they do it, it's a record for the program. Are you going to be pissed if they don't put up huge numbers and curb stomp minny? Or will it be enough that they've done something that no other team in the entire history of the program has accomplished?

i would agree with this. i already knew that these people were out there because i am one of them. i always go into something expecting perfection, but i am never disappointed with victory. i guess i have to blame some of my thinking on former hawkeye coach dan gable. i admit my self personally has never achieved anything close to perfection but i have always strived for it.

i know icwfan is a wrestling fan so i assume that his disappointment is in not dominating the opponent and making it obvious who the winner was. the thing is wrestling and football are completely different sports, so the approach and expected outcomes cant be the same.

This. Risking an injury that will cause a loss or make us non competitive in the CCG game is not worth the 'style' points of a 15 point win vs an 8. No one effing cares unless you really blow them up and even then the W is 90 percent of what anyone cares about.

ETA: If you're actually angry about this excellent and tight performance by the hawks and a 9-0 season to date then I'd suggest a therapist.

I alway hear that we aren't flashy and sexy, I guess I don't really know what that means, It seems like every game we have a couple of open deep passes that we don't connect on, If we hit those do we then become a sexier offense? I know we have likely left 7-14 easy points each week off the board the last few weeks. I like to think we will start hitting some of those soon and get a tad sexier.
