And 25 assists and 10 steals. Both are a mixed bag, but with great potential, if they can figure out how to play under control.A backcourt of Curbello and Touissaint would avg 20 turnovers a game.
Davison from Wisky is the only player I disliked more than this showboat.
Frazier shut down BohannonCan’t guard? Jfc. He made JBo disappear, now you are going to say he isn’t a magician.
You may want to check Joe T’s Assist to Turnover Ratio before you throw him under the bus.A backcourt of Curbello and Touissaint would avg 20 turnovers a game.
He appeared to care more about looking flashy and cool than “getting the job done”.Davison from Wisky is the only player I disliked more than this showboat.
yeah, he was all hugs and kisses last year with teammates (gotta believe some was fake/for show)...seemed to have an east coast ego that his shit didn't stink as well.He appeared to care more about looking flashy and cool than “getting the job done”.
There is very little chance Curbello sniffs the NBA, let alone plays there. He might make it in Europe somewhere.
Underwood was tainted by scandal at OkSt.
"His playing time was going to be very limited next year given how awful he was this year." Wrong
"Cant shoot, cant guard, average athlete, and small is not a recipie for the NBA." Wrong
"Clearly that is a violation of the NIL rules. NIL deals are not to be used to recruit new players." First question from players in the portal is about NIL...
"Underwood? Not so much." Just what rules has he broken?
"There is very little chance Curbello sniffs the NBA, let alone plays there." He was 6th man of the year last year, preseason all B1G and preseason All-American, so no chance
sounds like a good fit - maybe St.John's might be relevant in basketball again...
he for sure was a talent - would love to have Iowa land a PG like that...I know most of you watched from afar, but Curbelo had a TBI this year. One of the most severe concussions possible. For a month, he could not exercise without getting dizzy with a bad headache. It altered his personality, too.
Some of you scoff but, after a great freshman year, he was preseason all Big Ten and All American. The concussion during a preseason game ruined his season. Just as he was starting to play again, he got covid. He was a shell of the player he was as a freshman.
He needed a reset on his career. Moves close to home. If he is healthy, he is a great player. I wish him the best and will always be a fan.
Thanks for the info...I didn’t realize he battled all those health issues. Best of luck to him at St. John’s.I know most of you watched from afar, but Curbelo had a TBI this year. It's usually not a good idea to offer mental health interpretations from a sample of public behavior. But this looks like an exception. The sheer volume and bizarre nature of his actions points to significant psychological dysfunction.
Man… Andre Curbelo had a historic run as College Basketball’s Craziest Character:
• Booger Sugar problem at Illinois
• Allegedly threw equipment at team managers on the bus after a loss
• Got a concussion having a confrontation while drunk at Illinois
• Called a Washington fan a clown on twitter
• Got a technical in the 1st minute of his 1st game at St. John’s
• Suspended from St. John’s
• Had his own press conference while suspended at St. John’s and only answered one question on “why he was suspended” just to say, “I don’t know.”
• Record for most times diving into the second row of the crowd
• Juggled tennis balls for a warm up
• Ate popcorn on the bench during a game• Kicked off St. John’s team
• Lost his passport right before the team was set to travel.
• Got into an altercation with a teammate in front of the rest of the team. Damaged a trash can.
• Cussed out El Salvador’s coach.
• Missed mandatory team breakfasts.
• Made derogatory comments about the team trainer.
• Had four separate meetings with the team’s general manager about behavior.
• Unconfirmed rumors about escorts
• Got a technical from the bench his 1st game at Sourthern Miss. and then went to sit in the stands w/ the crowd
• Suspended indefinitely at Southern Miss.
• Got ejected from his final game at Southern Miss. while receiving a technical on the bench
• Kicked off the team at Southern Miss.
Safe to say, we’ll never see another Andre Curbelo in college basketball ever again.
Yup. The kind of thing that typically starts becoming very apparent during adolescence, but instead of addressing it, everyone around him probably let it slide because of his talent on the court. It's usually not a good idea to offer mental health interpretations from a sample of public behavior. But this looks like an exception. The sheer volume and bizarre nature of his actions points to significant psychological dysfunction.
