Cyclone women take a hit

I have no love for ISU, but this is a garbage post. You can cram this type of speculative, reputation-destroying trash. Shame on you.
You don't think there could be a connection to his "on the court" blowups at his players?
It could easily explain his temperament.

It's a message board. Speculation and opinions are what we do. I really doubt my comments are going to destroy his reputation.

You're a snowflake.
BTW...you want to refer to speculation???, there's now inferences on CF that there are "sexual overtones" in the ISU program. That goes WAYYYY beyond anything I post.

ISU is a mess.
Who would want to play for a raging, drunk lunatic like Fennelly?
His tirades near the bench are epic. And making Joens the only offensive option had to be divisive to team play.

Guessing there will be one more big departure within the next week.
With a new HC at Minny, that's my guess for Donarski.
Fennelly needs to retire. He's massively underachieving in the last few years.

The recruit from Garrigan is gonna be hating life real soon.
She will love the free food! Alllllll of it.

She will love the free food! Alllllll of it.
It will be interesting to follow the career of Crooks.

Obviously coaches saw her play AAU where the competition is better.
And Bluder offered her, so it's not like ISU was her only offer.
In the few games I saw her play, I never saw her score from more than five feet from the hoop, outside the free throws.

This meltdown in Ames could be the final nail in the coffin for BF...which likely reopens recruiting.

If sitting by and watching internet cowards casually try to destroy someone's life is what it takes to prove that I'm not a "snowflake", then I am fine with whatever name you want to call me.

People wonder what is wrong with our country. Pick up a mirror.

I already know what's wrong with this country and it's not some random key board warrior.

Read the ISU site. BF is getting pummeled by some Clone fans right now.

Your judgement seems fantastic. My work is done here. Consider no longer being a bad person.

According to a couple of posters that apparently run their NIL program, they can't raise much because Clone fans are incredibly cheap asses. Regarding the Garrigan kid, I guess it was more of a AAU connection and Ames' proximity to Algona that was the big factor for family attending games.
Yeah, it’s pretty clear to me that ISU was always Crooks’ first choice due to her AAU affiliation and wanting to be close to home. She has experienced loss in her family so I get wanting to stay close. That said…she certainly is putting her development at risk by going to ISU. By his own fans’ admission, BF does not know how to utilize posts (among other issues, on both ends of the court). This, opposed to Jan Jensen the post whisperer. But this wouldn’t be the first time she did that, since she forewent AIA for CySelect, again out of loyalty. Just hard to see her reaching her ceiling on her current trajectory. She will certainly start for ISU next year — along with, I would think, Ryan, Fritz, Diew and a freshman— sounds like a potential recipe for a Minnesota-like team, but probably with a higher ceiling. Crooks will have a LOT to learn tho.

I may have missed a comment or two but I believe this discussion centers on CBF/staff/his top players not being accepting of LGBTQ athletes (I assume Donarski identifies as something other than straight).

Brian Joens will demand that Kelsey is the focal point next season.

But yeah, I bet you're right.

Based on comments I’ve seen, this sounds about right. It seems he keys in on one or two top players, runs the O thru them, and doesn’t give anyone else the green light to find a flow. Ironically tho, that seems to be why Aubrey Joens transfered out. Her mother was quoted as saying she was tired of being instructed to just sit at the perimeter and wait for the ball to shoot a 3. She wanted to “play basketball, not stand around and wait.”

Also seems to be the case that if you’re not “in” — you’re out. As in, in the doghouse. And you’re not getting back in til next season at the earliest.

I read comments from ISU fans laughing at the nepotism within the Hawks football program.

They might want to take a peak at the ISU WBB staff! BF comes across as a grumpy, old man.
And you know if all this negative stuff is just coming out now, it's pretty safe to say that there's A LOT more dissention than we've heard so far.

I'm sorry but can we please not speculate on the sexualities of 20 year old girls based on nothing other than trash message board rumors? That's weird behavior for me.

Mitch seems like a good dude. Talking about girls weights, assuming someone is a drunk because they stood next to them at a concession stand, keyboard tough guy.

The type of guy who makes fun of ISU for being an Ag school as he wears an ANF hat. Priceless.

Is that not what they’re saying on their message boards? Correct me if I’m wrong but I didn’t see anything about there being “sexual overtones” in the program on their message board (i.e., something predatory), only people heavily implying the other, less tolerant, extreme and pointing to Donarski’s departure as a consequence. A + B likely equals C in this scenario, as I don’t know why else their own (distraught, invested) fans would suggest such a thing.

I don’t see anything wrong or controversial about her or any other player identifying as anything other than straight and it’s fairly common in the women’s game, so I don’t see the problem. It’s not defamation nor is it a moral judgment and I’m only relaying / clarifying what people are actually saying on the CF board. If she or someone else is personally offended at the notion of someone on this or that board suggesting a female student athlete may not be straight, I couldn’t care less.

If I misinterpreted their comments, by all means, correct me.

ISU is such an east target because their fans are hypocrites.

Show me where I'm wrong in my observations.

I'll hang up and listen.

Every woman at ISU is over 200 lbs? Bill Fennelly is a drunk? ISU is a community college? Need I keep going?

Take the chew out of your mouth and change your 1980 Hayden Fry shirt. Definition of TaVern Hawk.

Hypocrite is wearing an ANF sticker when your school has zero to do with Ag or farming.

The DM Register reporter who spoke with Lexi Donarski said her transfer had nothing to do with NIL. Obviously something wasn't suiting her in the ISU program and playing time wasn't likely part of it. I do think Lexi wanted to be more of a point guard which had been her normal position but that wasn't an option at Iowa State.

In regards to the sexuality talk... I know the ISU staff has tried using it against the Iowa staff during recruiting in the distant past (10 years ago), haven't heard anything as of late. It was more along the lines of 'traditional family values' type of talk when comparing programs.

Imagine everything that happened this week if you're a ISU fan...
1. Soares denied injury waiver.
2. Lose four players, and counting, to the portal.
3. Licking their wounds from an early tourney exit.
4. Watching your biggest rival make the Elite Eight.
5. Having a fan base screaming for a coaching change.

LOLOL

BTW...EFF ISU
To add to that David Carr loses in wrestling and the mighty football team goes 4-8.

Golden age of clown athletics.

Hey stinky isu could have come up with AMF but isu athletics was so bad Hayden felt like Iowa needed to do what little bro isu couldn’t, actually generate some publicity for the American Farmer.

Must ignore?

You don't like my POV so you attack me personally??

LOL. BF is fair game here because there are vivid insinuations of verbal abuse.
I get it. You're upset Cyclone sports are a shitshow.

The ANF reference is also amusing. Clone fans actually wanted helmet decals AHF(actually helping farmers) for the game in Ames on GameDay.

Back then, no one would have seen the ISU helmet decal. 1-10/2-9 teams don’t
get media coverage.

Hell, many people didn't even think they were a D-1 school.

Yep clown fans are really sensitive about ANF. What I don’t get is why they are so touchy about it? isu sucked at everything when Hayden came up with it . The only publicity isu would have garnered was when they would have played in Iowa City as back then just like today the Big Ten had much more TV exposure .

But of course clown fans prefer to ignore reality and show off their little brother syndrome.

We want more. We want more. We want more. Come on stinky tell us how it really is. That is always good for some laughs.

I think ISU fans are hoping good times are ahead when the two Big Dogs leave for the SEC.

I suspect ISU stays their current 6/7 in the new pecking order..

Must be time for stinky to run away and hide. Probably better then facing the reality of ANF and why isu couldn’t pull it off. It would have been as successful as crybaby Brent Blum’s “ we will collect cans” collective.

Oh I'm not at all saying there's anything wrong with it!!! Far from it. I am gay. I just don't think it's our place to speculate, which includes "interpreting" cryptic message board rumors. There's an element of privacy that that violates, for me.

Shame on them for that. Hope it's not still happening.

You think a player would ever say, 'Ya - I'm transferring to XYZ State because I get more money'? Truth is, Lexi could be perfectly happy, but is transferring because she's been promised more money to play some place else. And it's not breaking any rules. That's the sickening state of college athletics. (Something's up at ISU. Just taking the opportunity to b*tch.)

Top level players transfer every year now for a variety of reasons. Unless they come out themselves and state their reasons, everything is speculation.

However, I’ve also wondered about Fennelly’s bright red nose and if any connection to drinking alcohol?
Certainly would explain the sideline antics.
And that's only what the public sees. Imagine his behavior in closed practices?

I doubt Pollard has the balls to pull the trigger and axe BF. More likely he's covered up stuff.

Interesting to read CF discussion regarding the current coaching staff.

I'd estimate it's close to 50/50 on posters wanting a change.

When you're the top returner for next year's team, something must really have been wrong for Donarski to bolt. Likely not NIL related because she's hardly a big name.
Who knows? Maybe she even decides to return if it's not coach related?

Hurts clown fans so much that when confronted with the reality of where isu and Iowa were in the 1980’s they realize how petty their arguments are so their best move is to run off and hide from it.
