Dakich done on ESPN?

I’m sorry, but if you cannot appreciate Dick Vitale as a basketball fan, you have no soul. Listening to Vitale is listening to a man who truly enjoys life. Don’t be such a damned cynic that you allow your narrowness define good and bad. The world is a better place for Dicky V....overbearing...yep but he is a better person than he is overbearing.
You think you could talk to him for a minute and not feel better about yourself? Some guys just have that gift.

Vitale is terrible and should retire, today.
You understand these guys are working out of there homes...their play by play because of delays can’t be to analytical...Vitale’s best work is behind him...but I know full well what Im getting when I tune in...I watch Vitale to enjoy the game itself..for years I attended basketball games in person and never relied on an announcer to tell me what I am watching.
I dropped twitter 2-3 years ago. Don't miss it one bit.
Vitale gets a pass. College BB...especially as delivered by ESPN owes Vitale more than he can ever extract from game. Youngsters don’t appreciate what old guys like Burman and Vitale did for college basketball/ sports. Someday, when you grow up, you might....

to be honest, I think the infomercial was more ESPN than him. The second time he started talking about something else and then was like, 'oh, we're doing the promo again?' when the books appeared on screen.

It's been nice not seeing either of them for ages. With any luck I hope they stay healthy but I never have to watch/hear either of them again.

You are driven from employment and actually society if your words are "interpreted" as sexist, racist, inciting violence (irony from the most violent extremists since Woodrow Wilson gave birth the the nation of the KKK and anarchists of the early 20th century). It also surrenders the conversation to the most hyper sensitive and irrational members of the community. I personally like Dakich but this would apply to anyone. These ****ing bullies and tyrants won't stop until we stop them. If they fire Dakich, ESPN's advertisers should be attacked through boycotts and email campaigns. The golden rule is still the golden rule and we, the buyers, are more important than the Ivy League educated gender non specific karen wringing their hands in HR or PR. ESPN is one of the worst offenders in this persecution and I only watch it when Iowa is playing there.

I'm aware of the difficulties of broadcasting remotely. I don't dislike Vitale the person, I just don't like listening to his broadcasts.
I enjoy hearing about the intricacies of the game real-time and understanding why teams and coaches are doing what they're doing. Dick just doesn't provide that anymore.

once ESPN drifted away from sports and into far left politics, they lost a TON of viewers

He said "The Sun Rises in the East", then a bunch of PVCers went batshit crazy and weren't certain as to why, they just thought that they should, because they watch ESPN commercials.

Pretty sure I spelled it out. He was providing contact information and office hours for an individual he was in an argument with to his audience. This is being interpreted as inciting which may be taking things a wee bit far. I like dakich but that was obviously dumb.
Dan has really really thin skin. And when somebody pisses him off on Twitter, he either blocks you or he does something crazy like this.
He seems to always be toeing the line of what's ok and what's not ok, either on Twitter, on a game broadcast, or on his radio show. And as a result, he pisses a lot of people off.

LIke him or nor, BERMAN made ESPN what iot was through its early formative days. The guy would telecast a tiddly-winks tournament live at 2AM if it meant ESPN was delivering 24/7 "live" sports....and he'd do it 3 or 4 nights a week......His MLB Highlights show was the first of its kind offered oj a daily basis.....his nicknames became legendary (my fav was Joaquin "too the dugout early" Andujar, after Joaquin got knocked out in the 1st inning of a play-off game ) and the program quality was never seen before....and Vitale...ESPN owes Chris Berman, big time.....just as college basketball owes folks like Vitale, McGuire, Packer, and Dick Enberg. When these gius are in town everyone understands one thing.....it's a big deal!
