“Dakich talked about the argument the following day on his radio show, insulting Kalyan-Lamb's appearance, spelling out his name and repeatedly referencing his office hours at Duke, which was interpreted by some as doxxing or inciting his fans to take malicious action. “Sooo can somebody share what he actually said...?
I’m sorry, but if you cannot appreciate Dick Vitale as a basketball fan, you have no soul. Listening to Vitale is listening to a man who truly enjoys life. Don’t be such a damned cynic that you allow your narrowness define good and bad. The world is a better place for Dicky V....overbearing...yep but he is a better person than he is overbearing.Dakich can be a dick, but after having our last 2 games called by Vitale, I'd welcome a game called by Dakich with open arms.
I really hope Vitale hangs it up after this year after the last 2 clown show broadcasts. One was one giant infomercial and the other he was singing the Michigan fight song.

You think you could talk to him for a minute and not feel better about yourself? Some guys just have that gift.
Vitale is terrible and should retire, today.I’m sorry, but if you cannot appreciate Dick Vitale as a basketball fan, you have no soul. Listening to Vitale is listening to a man who truly enjoys life. You understand these guys are working out of there homes...their play by play because of delays can’t be to analytical...Vitale’s best work is behind him...but I know full well what Im getting when I tune in...I watch Vitale to enjoy the game itself..for years I attended basketball games in person and never relied on an announcer to tell me what I am watching.Because I called his last 2 broadcasts of Iowa games a clown show I have no soul?
Sorry for wanting actual analysis of the game I'm watching. That shouldn't be too much to ask.
No Twitter for me.
Vitale is terrible and should retire, today.
Vitale gets a pass. College BB...especially as delivered by ESPN owes Vitale more than he can ever extract from game. Youngsters don’t appreciate what old guys like Burman and Vitale did for college basketball/ sports. Someday, when you grow up, you might....Vitale is terrible and should retire, today.
Great. I can't wait for the long list of Nuns with their exemplary Basketball knowledge hitting the airwaves, should be a hoot. LOL!he also seems to have learned his social manners from Knight. The guy is a rude, arrogant prick and bully and makes inflammatory accusations and comments that really have no business in a sports broadcast. I really don't care of he retains his job or not, but if you take his entire body of work, its surprising he has kept his gig for this long.
to be honest, I think the infomercial was more ESPN than him. The second time he started talking about something else and then was like, 'oh, we're doing the promo again?' when the books appeared on screen.Dakich can be a dick, but after having our last 2 games called by Vitale, I'd welcome a game called by Dakich with open arms.

on a related note, has anybody noticed that he's sounding more and more like Dick Vitale?
Berman is a bigger blowhard than Vitale.Vitale gets a pass. College BB...especially as delivered by ESPN owes Vitale more than he can ever extract from game. Youngsters don’t appreciate what old guys like Burman and Vitale did for college basketball/ sports. Someday, when you grow up, you might....

Yeah, read the article...doesn’t actually say what he said. So again i ask, what did he actually say? Just curious“Dakich talked about the argument the following day on his radio show, insulting Kalyan-Lamb's appearance, spelling out his name and repeatedly referencing his office hours at Duke, which was interpreted by some as doxxing or inciting his fans to take malicious action. “
I’m guessing this is the issue.
once ESPN drifted away from sports and into far left politics, they lost a TON of viewersESPN is a cess pool. I never watch them unless its a game. I havent watched sports center in 10 years
He said "The Sun Rises in the East", then a bunch of PVCers went batshit crazy and weren't certain as to why, they just thought that they should, because they watch ESPN commercials.Yeah, read the article...doesn’t actually say what he said. So again i ask, what did he actually say? Just curious
Joe Biden.Go read some of the things he has said over the years. I can't think of a single professional, especially one in an outward facing role, that wouldn't have been fired already. Threatening to beat up a school board? Who does that?
Yeah, read the article...doesn’t actually say what he said. So again i ask, what did he actually say? Just curious
Pretty sure I spelled it out. He was providing contact information and office hours for an individual he was in an argument with to his audience. This is being interpreted as inciting which may be taking things a wee bit far. I like dakich but that was obviously dumb.
Love Woodbury but I agree, he called it right. He was right about Woodbury.
LIke him or nor, BERMAN made ESPN what iot was through its early formative days. The guy would telecast a tiddly-winks tournament live at 2AM if it meant ESPN was delivering 24/7 "live" sports....and he'd do it 3 or 4 nights a week......His MLB Highlights show was the first of its kind offered oj a daily basis.....his nicknames became legendary (my fav was Joaquin "too the dugout early" Andujar, after Joaquin got knocked out in the 1st inning of a play-off game ) and the program quality was never seen before....and Vitale...ESPN owes Chris Berman, big time.....just as college basketball owes folks like Vitale, McGuire, Packer, and Dick Enberg. When these gius are in town everyone understands one thing.....it's a big deal!Berman is a bigger blowhard than Vitale.
It's been nice not seeing either of them for ages. With any luck I hope they stay healthy but I never have to watch/hear either of them again.
once ESPN drifted away from sports and into far left politics, they lost a TON of viewers
now people only tune in for the games of interest & nothing else
Its cancel culture boys. This is one of the first weapons of the post modern left. You are driven from employment and actually society if your words are "interpreted" as sexist, racist, inciting violence (irony from the most violent extremists since Woodrow Wilson gave birth the the nation of the KKK and anarchists of the early 20th century). Especially the doxxing part-that is straight out of the post modern left playbook-page ****ing one!
It also surrenders the conversation to the most hyper sensitive and irrational members of the community. I personally like Dakich but this would apply to anyone. These ****ing bullies and tyrants won't stop until we stop them. If they fire Dakich, ESPN's advertisers should be attacked through boycotts and email campaigns. The golden rule is still the golden rule and we, the buyers, are more important than the Ivy League educated gender non specific karen wringing their hands in HR or PR. ESPN is one of the worst offenders in this persecution and I only watch it when Iowa is playing there.
I might have found a new crusade to keep me alive for another year.
Wait, you think ESPN peddles far left politics? Lol, holy shit, fran.
True, but here come the "ok boomer" retorts in 3.....2.....1.Vitale gets a pass. College BB...especially as delivered by ESPN owes Vitale more than he can ever extract from game. Youngsters don’t appreciate what old guys like Burman and Vitale did for college basketball/ sports. Someday, when you grow up, you might....
My guess is that he was being facetious. He probably knows that ESPN has become a left-leaning outfit (a blind dog could see it a mile away).LOL
here is a simple google search; take your pick of the stories.
when you have educated yourself, get back to us. LOL
My guess is that he was being facetious. He probably knows that ESPN has become a left-leaning outfit (a blind dog could see it a mile away).
Orrrrr......maybe he really meant it. Which means he really IS blind. My guess is that he was being facetious. He probably knows that ESPN has become a left-leaning outfit (a blind dog could see it a mile away).
So dumb. I love how all the people on Facebook who constantly post shitty political memes and bitch about politics are the same people who who want athletes to stay out of politics.
If you think ESPN is pushing an agenda of any kind, you are a strange, strange person.
If you can't figure that one out without having someone draw a picture, I just don't think I can really help you.Nope. Please tell me the liberal ideologies that they are forcing upon their viewers and listeners.
Can't wait to hear this.
So dumb and so out of touch. You obviously are an ignorant fool when it comes to the programming ESPN once had and have since gotten rid of.
And if you think politics of any kind belong on ESPN you are a strange, strange person.
MSNBC & CNN should be enough for you. I guess not.
If you can't figure that one out without having someone draw a picture, I just don't think I can really help you.
Nope. Please tell me the liberal ideologies that they are forcing upon their viewers and listeners.
Can't wait to hear this.
'Nuf said.I watch ESPN constantly.
You're so dumb.
The politics IN THEIR PROGRAMMING is what turned viewers & listeners away.
Again, do some research, dummy, and see who got let go by ESPN and why.
