Agree ... I want the best person for the job ... not someone who gets the job because they have ties to the school ... Loved DeanO as a player ... I'm sure he is doing a fine job as an assistant ... but this is a hire you want to get right and you want to get the best person available ...I see his name thrown out a lot but do we actually know anything about his coaching other than he’s a Hawk and is currently at Wisconsin?
Not being a dick, it’s a serious question
That was hardly Oliver's fault as you know. He's very quiet. As long as he's been here I don't recall hearing him speak. I have no idea how good of a coach he is. I suspect he is good. I'm positive he is a great person if Greg Gard hired him. Gard is like Tony Bennett in lots of ways, surrounds himself with good people. In his first year as an assistant they missed the tournament for the first time in 20 years

period
Anyone consider that that being an assistant at Wisconsin (consistently in the top of the big 10) is a better job than Iowa?

Lol. Yep, that was definitely because of Oliver.
Salient point, dip shit.
This has been brought up several times in other threads regarding the departure of coach Francis. Why do we need a separate thread on it?
You're evasive.Good gawd, you're a fuggin idiot.
He had Tyler Herro up to the 11th hour last year! He's not too bad. He got 20" Lorne Bowman coming in. Anderson coming back from knee surgery this year. Plus Trice and Davison coming back. Not in bad shape.Well their guards sorta suck and he hasn’t signed anyone good.

Oh, so he lost the commitment of an NBA draft pick and signed an unranked PG?
Probably the same things in the other threads already discussing it.Because what would you be reading and responding to without it, I guess.![]()
Fun to Watch and Tough Hawk and at Whisky. Is he good recruiter. Do No Know.Silver Toughed? Try a Former Hawk Anyway. We are Iowa no?I’m with storm. Not saying Oliver is wrong. Just curious why all the love for him.
Two potential 5*, one male, one female. I am not sure of sport(s) yet.Does he have any 4 or 5 star sons?
Perhaps in your delusional world. A recruit de-committing to Kentucky at the end of the recruiting cycle after being committed for over a year is no big deal, it only goes to show how little you know about college hoops. Also the commit he got(Lorne Bowman) is a 3 star and its for a different cycle 2020! Its takes a special kind of idiot to troll his own message board.Oh, so he lost the commitment of an NBA draft pick and signed an unranked PG?

There are no lengths you wont go to in order to make yourself look like a bigger idiot than most think you already are.Oh, so he lost the commitment of an NBA draft pick and signed an unranked PG?
LOL, dumb summed up in 1 post!In his first year as an assistant they missed the tournament for the first time in 20 years
Happens weeklyHe signed a point guard who Iowa wanted.

No, it’s not.Anyone consider that that being an assistant at Wisconsin (consistently in the top of the big 10) is a better job than Iowa?
Sure u would; you’re a Wisconsin fan.I can't speak for BigEddy, but I am content with Deano right where he is.
Wade, you lost credibility in this discussion by your comment in post #6.
Do not want a coach recruiting players less than 2' tall. Pass
