CJ did make some positive comments about Willies. The coaches put the clamp on him fast as can be... CJ worked out with Willies daily. He knew what he had in a receiver.
I think he would have definitely helped us out the last couple of years. Too bad it did not work out for both sides...
Looks like Derrick is making some strides. He has 6 catches for 144 yards and a TD, plus an onsides kick recovery. His coaches has some positive things to say about him.
“Derrick just has earned those reps and he stepped up and made the plays,” Kingsbury said. “He’s where he should be. He runs the routes. He plays physical. He’s tough. He works his tail off in practice. He studies hard. So we want consistent guys on the field and I felt like last week, we weren’t getting that play and this week we had guys out there that were doing the right thing every snap.”
