Democrats need to Caucus for a Republican candidate

Every Republican candidate except Christie agreed to support the eventual nominee in the general election. There is nothing stopping Trump from running for President from a jail cell.
What do you expect? Anyone who believes in protecting America would be a huge improvement over Biden. There have been hundreds likely thousands of confirmed terrorists and drug dealers crossing the southern border and Biden doesn't care. I'm not sure what he believes his job is if it isn't to protect America.

Really? Confirmed? And how were they confirmed? How does anyone know? How do you know Biden doesn't care? From your own right wing reporting, we are catching more illegals than we ever have before.

If they can actually get these terrible policies passed they are far more dangerous, not less. They just aren't as good at rallying the fascist base of the GOP.
I don’t think you appreciate the threat Trump uniquely poses to the entire democratic process. At the end of the 2024 election we could see multiple states remove the right of voters to cast a vote for president, opting instead for the gerrymandered state legislatures to choose who their electors will vote for.

There is, frankly, no end to the damage he could do. And no other human being has the grip has has on these people to make it happen.

Voting Christie would definitely feel less icky than Haley or DeSantis, but isn't he polling low single digits in Iowa? If stopping Trump is your #1 priority, caucusing for Christie rather than one of Haley or DeSantis seems like one lousy evening to me on top of a waste of time. Hell that time would be better spent going to the Dem caucus and figuring out new arguments with those guys to convince non-Dems to vote Biden in 2024. Something better than "not trump" and it's going to have to be better because people who don't follow politics closely can look around in 2024 and see a war in Ukraine, a war in Gaza that's possibly spilling out wider, and the same cost of living issues more or less than have been happening since COVID.
Haley is the one to caucus for. Slim chance she could get some momentum off Iowa and New Hampshire. Then come into her home state and make a case.

So let’s elect a Homeland and intelligence Security threat to combat Border security.

Republican caucus is actually a bit more tolerable IIRC. At least the one I went to in 2008 (Ron Paul reLOVEution forever). They do secret ballots at least. Still the same local caucus biz and rigamarole before the voting, but that's handled with secret ballots until the unviables are all out. This could have changed. But my lord do I hate caucuses. If they were ever the better way to do things, that time ended well before the cold war did.
My last caucus (democrat) was 1992. We had about 90 people and I had the usual misfortune of being the chair.

A caucus works pretty well with 15 to 20 people or maybe 30 at most. After that it becomes chaos. I had felt that caucuses were bullshit for a long time and this one confirmed that opinion. I never attended another one,

No but let’s be honest because That’s not what they asked
Yes, let's be honest. There was no clause in the question regarding being in prison, the moderators were simply asking if the candidates would support Trump if he won the nomination regardless of his legal status. Face it, everyone except maybe Christie promised to support Trump as the nominee NO MATTER WHAT!

Kamala has had the most turnover of staff in history. Even former close friends on staff resigned quickly as she screams and rages at her staff. Her biggest priority the first year in office was making people stand when she walked into a room. She ignores anything Joe asks her to do. He did not want her in the first place and regrets very much he was talked into it.

Whose name isn't Trump. Hear me out, if somebody can beat him in Iowa that will put a huge hole in his armor and his supporters won't be able to talk about the fn polls. I am doing my best to rally conservatives to do the same but let's take Trump out and make him go home. I realize some of you are going to laugh at this, but do you really want to take a chance and play with fire? If you weren't running Biden I wouldn't be as concerned, but right now he is. (Right now I am planning on voting for Biden in the General if he is up against Trump) if that makes you feel any different
Like the Speaker selection RN, this is a Republican problem. Let them figure it out. If Trump’s the man, Trump’s the man. Don’t expect me to bail out the mistakes made by others who really are much dumber than I.

I disagree. I'm not saying caucusing is the greatest way to nominate a person, but simply walking in a booth and checking a name when all you know about him/her is what you see in political ads or what you hear from bias news organizations is woefully inadequate. Maybe one might learn something from hearing from others.
i figured many republicans liked to do their own research.
going to a caucus to listen to others trying to convince you of supporting one candidate over another is definitely a sheeps move.

😎

Yea but at what expense?
At that point, who ****ing cares?

If this country is dumb enough to vote for trump in november, and he does all the things he says he will, puts people in positions where they set up an authoritarian regime and it gets as bad as what people are fearing, let us get what we get.

Just like abortion, we tried to sound the alarm that Roe was in danger and access to abortion was under attack. Libs were accused of being hysterical and were told Roe was safe. Then it happened and many of those same people were shocked Pikachu face once it started hurting them at the ballot box.

We tried telling them what trump really is, they blame the libs for overreacting and are now having shocked pikachu face becsuse of how unhinged he is.

Fvck it. Republicans will keep ignoring what libs are trying to tell you. They will keep nominating MAGA candidates at the local and state level. They will keep voting to own us. What you dont get to do is crawl to us and tell us what we need to do after it goes wrong, only so you can go back to attacking the libs and basing your vote on trying to “own” us once we bail your asses out.

GFY

No, nothing much. Which is the point.

Although now that you mention it, actually yes. Mike Pence stood up to Trump and refused to steal the election. And, Trump’s followers wanted to kill him for it.

So nothing burger from you? BAU. It's comical how much of a clown you've become.

What are you talking about? My main point was that Kamala hasn't done anything to elicit much of an opinion from anyone. When some missed that point, and asked what significant action a VP has taken, I provided a pretty solid recent example.
But, don't let that get in the way of you spazzing out again.

Oh come on, the fact that he is a family man and doesn’t attack those who don’t endorse him and yet there is nothing like able?
You’re kidding, right? His actions in Florida show precisely how vindictive he is. We were right about Trump all along and you learned. We’re also right about DeSantis. Now learn that as well. And Haley. Go back and watch what she said about Trump in 2015. Now she’ll vote for him if he was in prison. That’s not someone I want in charge of our nation.

you know there is a difference between being in prison and being convicted, you can be convicted of something and not spend anytime in prison

Republicans do not care any longer about American democracy. It’s plain as day. If they can hold power without it, democracy isn’t useful for them anymore. Stupid Americans are gifting them authoritarian rule.

Personally I hope he goes to jail
If he does and one of those two become President he has a get out of jail free card in his back pocket. Heck maybe their hoping their promise to pardon will give Trump incentive to drop out of the race so one of them can win.

I'm planning on caucusing for Christie, then flipping to Haley if he is deemed unviable.

DeSantis is a clown in high heels that smiles like a robot. He would be Trump 2.0, minus the charisma.

Would it be worth Trump dropping out but getting a pardon for you?

I’ve done both and the Democratic caucus is absolutely ludicrous. The Republican one is way better. You’re going to have to listen to some loon waste your time with Vivek ramaswamy but it’s over quickly enough.

Give me a straight primary anytime.

My intention is to caucus for whoever is polling the highest outside of Trump.

Have you been to these things? Usually the speakers are so laughably bad I can’t stand it.
