Democrats, WTF?

It would appear that the vote on the proposed bill was designed to show the moral bankruptcy of the American left. I think we can all agree that it worked.
So an intentional waste of taxpayer money? That's the equivalent of requesting the placement of a 70MPH Speed Limit sign right next to an existing 70MPH Speed Limit sign and complaining that those in opposition are against public safety.

Republicans won't even get rid of the pedophiles in their own party and you expect us to take this pearl clutching seriously? Why don't we start there and then we can worry about the other things.
Democrat dick durbin is the one who fought to keep the epstein flight logs under seal. Weird.

This thread reminds me of a Bill Burr bit about abuse in the Catholic church. They had a meeting to vote on some new rules. A "one strike and you're out" policy was proposed but actually voted down by some members. Yeah...one strike and you're out is a little harsh. I mean, who doesn't slip up now and then and f*** a kid.

How am I celebrating it? Bills such as this, where they carve out certain crimes and make a special bill, erodes the will of some to enforce the entirety of existing law.
You literally just posted that a taxpayer funded bill, that is duplicative of existing legislation, is nothing more than virtue signaling that most Democrats didn't bite on.

H.R. 7909 duplicates current law by reiterating grounds for inadmissibility and deportation that are already established. The bill may serve more as a symbolic gesture rather than introducing substantive legal changes. It's important to note that while H.R. 7909 emphasizes offenses committed by "illegal aliens," the INA's existing provisions apply broadly to all non-citizens, regardless of their immigration status. Therefore, the bill's focus may be seen as redundant, considering the comprehensive nature of current immigration laws.

The entire premise of this thread is steeped in intellectual dishonesty and is the type of crap that gets propagated through social media in an attempt to keep Democrats and Republicans at odds.

Anti-American scum, the lot of them.

“Pingree, along with other far-left Democrats such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), voted to allow illegal immigrants to remain in the country after abusing women, including U.S. Citizens and female immigrants.

Vote them out!

That is not what they did at all. You should read the already existing laws that make such persons deportable.

Republicans threw out the bait and a majority of democrats bit. The 51 democrats were smart for supporting the bill. Supporting the bill didn't hurt them at all.

Explains why Biden still identifies as a catholic, I guess.

So what you're saying is the Democrats need to do a better job of recognizing that the current GOP voting base is comprised of uneducated morons who are easily manipulated (see OP and the tweet) and act vote accordingly?

JFC....some of you idiots ****ing deserve to be victims of these perverted ILLEGAL predators.....
The border is a huge issue and needs to be addressed. Could you educate the board on how duplicative legislation, which your HBOT constituents admitted was nothing more than bait (virtue signaling), will solve this issue?

Can you specify how HR 7909 would have protected Americans?
It can't and nothing will until 20 January. We currently have an entire administration and political party complicit in the invasion of this country by the lowest form of humanity on the planet, all for the purpose of cultivating them into the next lowest form of humanity on the planet--democrats.

Why keep voting these scum into office?

What the hell is wrong with you people?

Here is a summary below from the Congressioinal record of part of this House Bill. Now this mentions that the non-US national would be denied entry based on legal matters of another country. So I can see why some members of congress would not want to totally agree with this bill.

Would you think that the Govt of Venezuela has some really great justice system. They might makeup crimes made by a political dissident and then deport them just to get them away from Madura's? fake govt? So the US without knowing how true these charges are will then believe that Govt?

Now the 2nd part of the bill which deports immigrants for these types of crimes occuring in the US is absolutely right to make them deportable.

"First, the bill establishes that a non-U.S. national is inadmissible if the individual has admitted to or is convicted of acts constituting the essential elements of stalking, child abuse, child neglect, child abandonment, a sex offense, conspiracy to commit a sex offense, a violation of certain protection orders, and domestic violence (including physical or sexual abuse or a pattern of coercive behavior when it occurs within certain close relationships).

Anti republican
I hate to break it to you, the Republican party died in 2016. Let me know when it returns. You are now part of the White Nationalist Party.

Here's my voting record:

1992 - George H.W. Bush (Republican)
1996 - Bob Dole (Republican)
2000 - George W. Bush (Republican)
2004 - George W. Bush (Republican)
2008 - John McCain (Republican)
2012 - Mitt Romney (Republican)
2016 - Gary Johnson (Libertarian)
2020 - Abstained
2024 - Chase Oliver (Libertarian)

Durbin probably did it because the UK prince, Trump, Clinton, and others were on some of those flights along with other important people. trump was prez at the time I think so didnt want upset all around the most powerfull.

Epstein had parties in NYC and it seems no one has reported who was there and authorities trying to find anything out.

Why hasnt Epstein and his lady friends diaries and whatever been published?

I'm sure dick was keeping the flight logs secret to protect trump. That definitely sounds like the behavior of the dems over the last 8 years.. not.

Surely this wasn't a real take on your part?

The result of the vote merits recriminations of those Democrats that voted No. They have not been sufficiently lambasted and ridiculed and deserve to be voted out of office.
Since H4aD has failed to answer, would you as the OP care to answer?

"Could you educate the board on how duplicative legislation, which your HBOT constituents admitted was nothing more than bait (virtue signaling), will solve this issue?"

Here is a list of MAGAs clamoring on about "enforcing current laws." Why has your stance changed?

Utter nonsense.

But please, by all means, continue down the road with this narrative. Keep doubling down on the worst of your tendencies, in this case racial politics. It backfired in the last election and it's clear that you've learned nothing.

Wow. You really are blind.

The Republican Party under Reagan and Bush(s) maintained a worldview that emphasized American leadership on the global stage, whereas under Trump, the focus has most certainly shifted to nationalist isolationism. How do you not see that? Not to mention he's weaponized Christianity.

Listen, if you're a neo-con longing for the days of foreign intervention and their inevitable disasters, then that's your choice.

But don't make this racial. It's beyond absurd to do so.

I don’t see that as meriting opposition to the bill. In fact, I approve of it. We do not need to meddle in other countries’ justice systems whether there’s issues of corruption or not.

Just as we cannot police the world, we cannot also serve as the world’s appellate court. We have every right to be judicious about those whom we allow to immigrate here and gain citizenship.
