Poor guy was just a couple decades before his time, for the Western-Iowa MAGAs to celebrate and defend...
Gotta complete their sentence. That includes fines and restitution. That's a pretty simple concept.
Except that DeSantis had a bunch of them arrested who HAD completed their sentencing. AND were informed by the registration offices that they were cleared to register to vote (didn't actually vote).
That stunt didn't just please his crowd, it made anyone else who IS cleared to vote but might fall in that same category UNLIKELY to try, as they can get arrested by his phony commission, too.
Not really. The fines and restitution on top of prison time and probation are simply a poll tax. Fortunately for DeFelon the court of appeals in Atlanta is now, at least for now, majority right wingers. They allowed this poll tax to stand.

Federal Judge Tells Ron DeSantis to Sit Down and STFU
The judge blocked Florida from enforcing its anti-free speech law restricting conversations about race, calling it “positively dystopian.”
On a somewhat related note to Judge Walker's latest ass kicking of Tater Tot, today I had one of the many republicans I know tell me: "DeSantis will have an advantage over TRUMP because he has a deep understanding of constitutional law." I could only laugh at that nonsense.
I didn't want to start a new thread to post this meme. Seeing how Big Green is one of DeFelon's biggest owners, this was as good a place as any
I love too how he's standing at a podium touting improvements funded by federal dollars from a bill he and every other Rep congressman didn't support.
