I watched a documentary called The Whole Nine Yards where they showed how a gangster faked his death using a dentist and a corpse to make it look like his dental records. Probably what happened here.
The body - if legit it’s Laundries - was supposedly underwater all this time. It will be apparent if it was there all along or a recent “plant”.

I cannot remember the name of the guy, but this reminds me of a case in IC awhile back. Some guy killed his family and then they found his car parked at Hickory Hill Park. The tactical team geared up and spent a day swaggering through the park, when everyone knew the dude had shot himself. They didn't find him, but didn't a retired cop from CR drive down the next day, park near where the guy's car was found, and walk along the first deer trail he saw and found the body. His assumption was in the guy's demented state he'd just want to find a spot in the woods and kill himself.
How in the world did they not find his belongings until now?
