That must be it. 🙄Could it be possible he knew that by missing the free throw on purpose it would draw more attention to himself than if he broke the record? Maybe he chose not to break it for selfish reasons?

If this is what you believe, he really could not win with you. You may want to tighten that tinfoil hat.
I am surprised that there has not been a story written on this angle yet. You may want to notify Tom or post your own story.just as likely as any other “explanation” by everyone who has no clue yet assumes they have the answer.

Did not say I believe that, but no one knows exactly why he missed.
People do things for all kinds of reasons.
Do you have insider knowledge on why he missed?
There have been multiple stories written about JBo intentionally missing this free throw since it happened with quotes from JBo. This is not just idle speculation on this board.
I had not noticed that. Do you think JBo should have just made the free throw and taken the record for himself? Who would have been associated with the record if this had happened? At least now, JBo and Chris Street are mentioned together as having the record. People really look for things to criticize JBo about. Think on that one for a sec.
Jfc, we’re still yapping about this? I see it this way.
1. People very rarely get KO’d for no reason.
2. Jordan Bohannon has done a lot of things at Iowa rich in the douche. (Who the hell leaves signed shoes on the floor of an opponent besides a douchebag? )
3. Given points one and two, I conclude that where’s there’s smoke there’s probably fire. I think Bohannon probably got what’s been coming to him for a long time.
So you’re saying that every human ever interviewed on a human interest story is always telling the truth? Or could it be possible that some speak in “truths” that might benefit them personally?
As I said in the post I edited above I don’t think he missed on purpose for selfish reasons, but only he knows the truth.
Leaving the shoes at Hilton was priceless. It may have been a douchey thing to do but were we not all entertained by it? Maybe someone can help here, but was there one Hawk fan that had a problem with it? I guess we are all douchebags then, just lacking the talent to actually be able to leave the shoes ourselves.
I've been calling out this BS miss since it happened.I believe that people who do not like JBo are looking for reasons to discredit him. I am not saying that is you. The missed free throw occurred three years ago and now there are people speculating about his motives. As you mention, no one knows what goes on inside someone else's head. Jordan said he missed it on purpose and all of the reports at that time were that he missed it on purpose. That is good enough for me to not need to look for some sinister ulterior motive now that some people have a beef with him.
Somebody needs to knock that douche Niang out!!![]()

By your logic, JBo loses either way. He makes the free throw and owns the record himself. He misses the free throw and it is "a Jbo thing." You are correct in that he did garner some good will by missing the free throw. This action also brought Chris Street back into the spotlight. How many people knew that Chris Street had the Iowa consecutive free throw record prior to JBo tying it? I know that I did not. It's a not a Chris Street record anymore. It's a Jbo thing. For chrissakes, man.
why do you need insider knowledge...he told you and everyone else why - afterwards he said he had been thinking about it.Do you have insider knowledge on why he missed?

so either you believe him or not. Up to you.
Insider? you mean like teammates? I'm not aware he did (never asked the player I know., like hey did JBo really miss that free throw on purpose?)...there was discussion with a brother of his prior.
and for the record, he did tie the Chris Street's record.
hey...maybe he didn't miss it on purpose at all just missed it,,,and then had to come up with something.
would that be considered a conspiracy theory or just a conspiracy?
Lord.
I do agree with you that people look for ulterior motives to discredit people that they do not like and believe people that they do like. I know that I do the same. For the most part, I do try to take people at their word. At least until they prove that their word is useless.I used to think he was a jerk until I personally witnessed him doing something really kind for a person.
I completely agree people are looking for reasons to rag on JBo.
I guess I just find it disturbing that people tend to believe a person based on if they like that person. Do you look for ulterior motives to discredit people you don’t like? Or blindly believe a story because you like that person?
The most selfless thing to do was to miss the free throw BEFORE he tied the record. But I am just joking!By your logic, JBo loses either way. He makes the free throw and owns the record himself. No lol. That's not a limelight. People aren't gonna be talking about Jbo's zero pts on TV repeatedly. Now we are questioning JBo's motives for missing a free throw purposely to preserve the record for an Iowa legend? Un****ingbelievable!
I'm guessing he probably scored 0 points in the Oregon game just to get headlines as well. He knew losing and not scoring would get him into the limelight.
How stupid are you?

so what insider knowledge do you have that it could very well be?Could very well be.
Technically, he didn't "leave the shoes at Hilton". He took them off after the game, strategically placed them on the floor, took several pictures(or had someone else take the pictures), picked the shoes up and brought them home and posted about it for the next 3 days. YES, he did raise money for the hospital with is great!! It's still a form of trash talking that really doesnt' serve much purpose and I wish athletes would do less of it.
Yes!!The level of anti- "JBo douchebaggery" in here is pathetic
so what insider knowledge do you have that it could very well be?
I know.....zero.
that would be nothing.
big ZERO.
So "could very well be" is nothing more than your brain working overtime.I have nothing, but no one else really does either unless you are JBo personally or a member of his family possibly.
actually, he did NOT pick the shoes up and bring them home.
the shoes got thrown in a trash can. Someone from Iowa retrieved them from that trash can.
Boy, of boy, the inaccuracies and 100% pure speculation in this thread are rather amazing. So many people are ASSuming what happened and what was said prior to the sucker punch. Frankly, no one on here knows what led up to the sucker punch.
Maybe it was just a dumb a$$ Clown grad who had too much to drink, hates Iowa and hates JBo and he took his shot? But, again, I can't say that for sure because NONE of us know a damn thing, for sure.
I've been calling out this BS miss since it happened.
Believe it or not.
I do as well.I am pretty much the same Mooresville. And hey, I appreciate the discussion.
So "could very well be" is nothing more than your brain working overtime.
Its raining outside but then again maybe not...could be a bunch of geese flying over pissing.
Did not say I believe that, but no one knows exactly why he missed. I don’t believe that is why he missed on purpose but, People do things for all kinds of reasons.
That video is basically a Rorschach test.100% Fran. I’m not sure how anyone could tell for sure it was a sucker punch either. Tough to tell anything from the video.
He said he missed because the record deserved to stay in Chris Street's name. And guess what? The record is still in Chris' name. People applauded him for that. Chris' parents were deeply touched.
And now, after he gets sucker punched, you are going back in time, trying to find fault in him regarding that special moment that Iowa fans shed a few tears & celebrated?
And I bet if you had this discussion with Chris Streets' parents, they would be shocked you would bring this up & end up having more problem with your character than Jordan's.
so maybe when he missed and pointed to the sky he was checking on the wind factor in CHA...damn these conspiracy theories are weird.
