Don't forget he was 0-14 years making an Sweet6 before he got to Iowa. Even Lickliter and Alford had Sweet16 on there resumes.
His futily is going on 29 years of coaching as it looks like a good bet Iowa won't be in a Sweet16 this year.

I came to conclusion way back when he had Uthoff and JOk and all senior/veteran team that flopped that his system/approach is fundamentally flawed. Everybody that goes to Sweet16s and better play good defense/rebound. You can't win in NCAA toruney with our good guard play and good defense.


Garza and Murray's gave us some hope that he might Fran might be able to do something special and those teams all flamed out. It seems pretty obvious that when you have have a coach with 28 years of never getting it done, he's highly unlikely to suddenly stumble on to a winning formulat in years 29 and beyond.
