Unfortunately he may come back anyway. FMLI'd rather just get it over with early and take any possibility of Fran increasing his odds to come back off the table.
That’s why he needs to lose every game in embarrassing fashion. Leave no doubt for Beth!Unfortunately he may come back anyway. FML
see bold: me too since the late 50's early 60'sI don't care about Fran visiting his sons, but definitely meh on the team making the BTT.
The only thing that I'm interested in at this point is the decision about Fran leaving or staying. If he's brought back for another year I will definitely be at the lowest point of interest in Iowa men's bball since I started following them in the '70s. I didn't think I could be less interested than the lick years, but that's where I'll be.
Ironic talking about men even making big10 tournament and bracketology with women's team.I hope not.
You never know. Hawks could win a couple of games."For the players, I do".
Why? So they can enjoy the experience of watching the opposition go bombs away over them, getting out-rebounded and losing by double-digits one last time in the 2024-25 season??
Seems like something I'd kill for to be involved in. ..... Not.
I guess we’ll find out soon if she is another Gary Barta or not.I wait all year to watch the Hawks. I'll watch one more game. But if losing the next few games is what gets Fran fired. We're screwed. He should have been gone long before now. If Beth does not get rid of him in time to get a good coach. She needs to go to, and whoever hired her.
If dropping men’s basketball means we can focus all revenue and efforts to women’s basketball, it’s worth a shot! Really haven’t done anything this century in men’s basketball even with some elite talent. Coaching, guards, and defense have always been a problem.Hell with it. Lets all call Beth and tell her to just drop Mens Basketball because nobody cares!. Everyone thats a true Hawkeye fan should cheer like hell to make the Tournament,Any tournament. Ridiculus that you want the season over next Sunday. A long offseason awaits until Football starts up so the longer Iowa plays the better!
Yay, women’s basketball!!! Our fanbase is embarrassing. All we have left to hang our hat on is women’s basketball. But hey, punting is winning. If dropping men’s basketball means we can focus all revenue and efforts to women’s basketball, it’s worth a shot! Because you obviously don’t know we had players like Megan Gustafson and Kathleen Doyle and Sam Logic before Caitlin. It’s been a great program. In my four years at Iowa, I didn’t go to a single men’s basketball game. I never missed a football game and probably went to four women’s games a year. And the team’s then were nowhere near as bad as the last couple years either.Yay, women’s basketball!!! Our fanbase is embarrassing. All we have left to hang our hat on is women’s basketball. I mean shut the men’s program down and go all in on the women’s? That’s neat, considering the curtains had to be put up at carver pre-Clark.
How about instead we go get DeVries or McCollum and invest a pile of money into the program and try to build it back up? Nah, let’s throw all of our money at a program that is historically in the red. Where were all of these dipsh*t women’s bball chest thumpers pre-Clark?
End rant.
I do know about all of those players. I also know Carver had the curtains up during their tenure. It took a once in a generation player like Clark to produce sell-outs. Those days are over. Happy for the girls success, but to just say go all in on the women’s team and let the men’s program die is idiotic.Because you obviously don’t know we had players like Megan Gustafson and Kathleen Doyle and Sam Logic before Caitlin. I've said it before, at this point if Beth does not make a change then I begin to question if she's the right person for the AD job.I want them to make it, but if they don’t, Iowa can cut ties with Fran as early as next Sunday. It would be nearly impossible for Beth to ignore the momentum to make a change. She might as well get on with it as soon as possible.
