I want them to make it, but if they don’t, Iowa can cut ties with Fran as early as next Sunday. It would be nearly impossible for Beth to ignore the momentum to make a change. She might as well get on with it as soon as possible.

Braun, Mulvey, and KIngsbury seem to be enjoying their minutes. They are all maximum effort guys and I don't mind watching them.

If Dix's mom is sick, I can see why he mostly looks like he's sad/unhappy on the court.

Payton was tasked with being the Top gun on this squad and he's not that guy. Something happened to his shot this year. I've never seen so many air balls out of a guy that is supposed to be a pure shooter.

I do know about all of those players. I also know Carver had the curtains up during their tenure. It took a once in a generation player like Clark to produce sell-outs. Those days are over. Happy for the girls success, but to just say go all in on the women’s team and let the men’s program die is idiotic.
Obviously I was being sarcastic. But once in a lifetime type players at schools can make a lasting impact. Look at Creighton, UNI, and Drake. Doug McDermott was supposed to go to UNI before Greg took the Creighton job. He brings Doug with him. Doug becomes a generational player at Creighton and is essentially the reason Creighton gets a Big East invite. Drake and UNI had great teams around that time and are still stuck in the Missouri Valley Conference that is falling apart now. Doug has made or will have made hundred of millions of dollars more for Creighton just from the difference in Big East TV rights against the Missouri Valley.

Brauns* it's become a major pet peeve of mine. You aren't the only one who does it.

This dude was taking crazy shots as sophomore, I don't think Fran had to task him with it. He's the most overconfident player I've ever seen. Insisted on being the top gun is more like it.

When the team was all healthy he was the 4th best scoring option in reality but was still shooting the most.

He shoots air balls because he refuses to take normal shots.

Even when wide open last night on an out of bounds play he, caught the ball and drifted two feet to his left during his shot , for absolutely no reason.

I feel bad for him because he does want to win. He would have likely thrived under a guy like McCollum who would instill discipline, patience and some intelligence into his game.

How is the Missouri Valley falling apart? Teams leave conferences all the time doesnt mean its falling apart. They will replace Missouri State and life goes on.

I didn’t even know Missouri State was leaving. It used to be a very competitive league, with a lot of good teams, then two of the basketball schools left in Witchia State and Creighton, and it’s been downhill since.

Missouri State is going to Conference USA. With NIL and revenue sharing the days of a 2 bid MVC or any mid major are probably over. Even the WCC will struggle with Gonzaga going to the new PAC-12. Mountain West will be a 1 bid league with all the big boys going to the new PAC-12 also.

I would bet that Beth, no matter what the outcome of these final games, will not want to fire McCaffery. I'm hoping she at least gives him a chance to quit on his own, which I believe he has earned. If he declines, than she needs to give him some guidelines and goals to meet next season.

Quit or be fired are the only options. There is no fanbase left to support his return. The empty arenas should be proof enough.
