Although with modern embalming and burial practices, you essentially do become a mummy.
I think this is what I want done with whatever is left of me:

Not sure if it's still a thing, but at one point there was a company that would mummify you and entomb you in the side of a cliff in Colorado - even back like in the 90s it was still $25k.
Unless there are accompanying jars that contain your removed organs, it just isn't the same.
Probably cremated. Wouldn't mind a green burial (no embalming, no vault, able to decompose naturally), but I don't think it's legal in Iowa. Aquamation sounds interesting too. Have sometimes thought about donation to the UI medical school as a cadaver also.

A friend of mine from Wisconsin is a huge animal lover.

Told my wife do what ever is cheapest. If she can just give my body away for free do it. Hell sell it on the black market if she can make a buck.

Organs donated, body given to U of I Med school for research/training. They will then cremate and have a ceremony in fall for all the donors' families. Only cost is getting body from hospital to organ donor organization which local funeral home will do.
I'd prefer to be cremated, but I'll be dead - so whatever the wife wants.
Composted or body donated to science. Cremation produces lots of greenhouse gases.

I'd love that. Get to go through walls and peep on everyone. Get to screw with people whenever you want - slamming doors, knocking over lamps, etc.
Cremated. Wife and sons spread my ashes in places I've hunted and fished from Canada to the Gulf.
I told my wife not to spend one cent more on me than absolutely necessary or I'll come back and haunt her. So, whatever is cheapest.
