I’ve fallen for nothing. I’m a long-term conservative for many years. I’ve honestly seen never seen anything as radical as the stated Democratic platform this year.
The stated Democratic platform on the Biden-Harris (or should I say Harris-Biden as both have let slip) website is generally what I described above and now below. Anybody who thinks Biden will not be pushed to the far left is in total denial.
Repeal of Trump tax cuts impacting 80% of all tax brackets, increase in capital gains tax, reduction of estate tax exemption from ~$11.5M to ~$5,4M (or so, going from memory), increase in corporate taxes, a $4.1T (which most serious economists say will be much higher) unrealistic environmental green new deal (CA brown outs throughout the country anybody?), open borders, citizenship to illegal immigrants regardless of criminal background, defunding reallocating the police, cashless bail, etc. Again, it’s all on their web site.
Not to mention the fundamental government structural changes the Democrats are talking about - ending the senate filibuster, court packing, adding DC and Puerto Rico as states, abolishing the electoral college, lowering the voting age to 16, illegal immigrants allowed to vote.
Trump is running on his record - lowest unemployment / highest employment for all socio-economic stratifications, first administration in 39 years not to get in a foreign war resulting in 3 Nobel Peace Nominations (and he’s earned his), average household increase of $6,500 (or so, going from memory) in just 3 years, all time highs on the stock market, massive increase in manufacturing jobs in the U.S., criminal justice reform, creation of opportunity zones, historical funding of HBCU’s, judicial appointments, etc. I could go on and on... All substantial improvements over the Obama-Biden administration.
It’s actually the Democrats who are not running on their stated platform with their only talking points involve bashing Trump.
Sorry for the long read. Might be worth it if it changes one vote.
