You don't have anyone to match up with him and it's probably better than letting the Illini 3 point shooters light it up.
Curbelo is out, is Murray going to play?

I agree Kofi will get his, but he will be damn sore after the game having 250 lbs. constantly on his ass.
Let's see.. Kofi shoots 67% from the field and 64% at the line. I think we'll guard Kofi and see if he can hit his free throws. You don't have anyone to match up with him and it's probably better than letting the Illini 3 point shooters light it up.

I agree, we dont have one person who can guard him.Good news is after watching your team and defense, you have no one to guard our starters. You are way over-rated. bordering on suckYou don't have anyone to match up with him and it's probably better than letting the Illini 3 point shooters light it up.

Awesome. We're over-rated even though we're literally not rated.I agree, we dont have one person who can guard him.Good news is after watching your team and defense, you have no one to guard our starters. You are way over-rated. bordering on suck
Those are rankings not ratings yo!Awesome. We're over-rated even though we're literally not rated.
Was very impressed with you guys’ performance vs. Purdue! As for the bozo claiming we are overrated and suck, piss off, bro.We can’t match Kofi, but we are closer to matching the athleticism all around that Illinois always has.
Yes, this. The one thing I am seeing and we have a player like JT and others but mainly JT. Watch him on defense especially this last game against PU. He is so friggin quick and to the ball. He is constantly able to help out and dig and dig and dig on the help side with those bigs but quick enough to recover to defend his man.Obviously he's a tough match-up. Glad Iowa's big guys have faced Purdue's two giants.
Three quick trips up and down the court and Kofi is gasping. Watch he's the last one back. Garza had better stamina than KC.Can Kofi guard Keegan?
Kofi is at 70% from the FT line this season. Not a great choice but maybe better than letting him dunk I guess.Let's see.. Kofi shoots 67% from the field and 64% at the line. I think we'll guard Kofi and see if he can hit his free throws.
Uhhh...no. Kofi is in great shape and can run all day.Three quick trips up and down the court and Kofi is gasping. Watch he's the last one back. Garza had better stamina than KC.
I would guess Hawkins, Williams and Grandison will get that assignment unless Iowa goes really small. Can Kofi guard Keegan?
Meh...He got a boost from the Rutgers game. He'll drop back down on the FT% again. Season is early and he's a career 61% FT shooter. I'd still rather foul him and make him earn it at the line vs giving up a dunk.Kofi is at 70% from the FT line this season. Not a great choice but maybe better than letting him dunk I guess.

Coming over to an Iowa bball board telling us how conditioned your player is. SweetKofi is at 70% from the FT line this season. Not a great choice but maybe better than letting him dunk I guess.

But at least Garza outscored Kofi in every game but one, I believe. Is Josh going to provide that type of scoring or is he just going to accumulate fouls?Ogundele can match up with Kofi better than Garza did. Quicker feet. I’m more worried about the supporting cast.
True, but Big O did alright last year in his brief encounter with Kofi. We just need 15-20 minutes of good defense from him. I've got to think that practicing against Garza for a year was tremendously helpful in improving his defensive game. Big O is the only guy on our team that can physically match with Kofi, and we certainly don't want the Murrays picking up a bunch of fouls trying to guard him.But at least Garza outscored Kofi in every game but one, I believe. Is Josh going to provide that type of scoring or is he just going to accumulate fouls?
I've only seen one Illini game this season, but in that one, the refs just let Kofi bull his way around the lane with impunity. When they did call either a foul or travelling on him, he slammed the ball to the court and was not charged with a technical. It seems as though he was been granted a pass in that game, hopefully not the entire season.
If you mean Josh O, it be more like 280.....I agree Kofi will get his, but he will be damn sore after the game having 250 lbs. constantly on his ass.
They won't put him on either Murray. He'd be in foul trouble early chasing them around on drives to the basket, and out to the three point line. Can Kofi guard Keegan?
Josh doesn't need to match him in scoring, just make him earn what he gets. We've got other guys who can score, just don't want Keegan guarding him for stretches of the game. But at least Garza outscored Kofi in every game but one, I believe. Is Josh going to provide that type of scoring or is he just going to accumulate fouls?

i would think Iowa will do what they did against Purdue and double Kofi. No one on Iowa's team can really handle Kofi 1-1, few in the country could. I would guess aggressive double teaming. We will see how that works.I think they need to send double teams at him, he doesn't handle them very well. They need to come from a variety of spots. I think they will do a lot of what they did at Purdue.
I noticed that Patrick did this to Edey and was effective. I expect to see some of this.Instead of being afraid of Kofi, I think it would be good to drive at him and see if we can get some early foul calls.

Lol this guy wants a whistle on Cockburn every time he touches the ball. But at least Garza outscored Kofi in every game but one, I believe. Is Josh going to provide that type of scoring or is he just going to accumulate fouls?

Probably a good idea, I'm expecting the usual B1G road officiating. If Scirotto is assigned to this game I may not even watch.Instead of being afraid of Kofi, I think it would be good to drive at him and see if we can get some early foul calls.
Depends when JoshO is inThree quick trips up and down the court and Kofi is gasping. Watch he's the last one back. Garza had better stamina than KC.
Prior to the Rutgers game, he was 69.4%.
After the Rutgers game, 69.8 %
Math is hard.
Man, Luka has really let himself go.
