I'm simply enjoying the fact that we are finally taking full advantage of a favorable schedule and staying tied to where my mindset was entering the season... no where in any scenario imaginable did I have this as current state.
Don't much care what shakes out at the end of the season...

FIFY (but I do think the Coaches are doing a much better job this year, mostly because of CJ Beathard of course, but still give them credit for sure)

I also am really enjoying this year, Hell even if we drop a game or two it is just so much fun watching this years team, You can tell this group has really jelled and seem to really enjoy playing ball together.
I care deeply. This season represents an incredible opportunity. A CC win would be huge. Another top 10 bowl win would be huge. Of course, a CC win likely gets us into a wildly fortunate playoff appearance and the opportunity to accomplish something that would shake the football world to its core.
This is a big deal. I know anything could happen, but the first eight games have involved a lot less suffering than the first 8 of 09. This team is efficient and strong.

That said, here's my thoughts on how the season could shake out...
13-0 and I'll be elated (if we ended up in Rose instead of playoff would be frustrated but still happy)
12-1 (or 11-2) B1G champ and Rose Bowl = also elated
12-1 B1G runner up = very, very happy if in Rose Bowl. Only "very" happy if in Fiesta or Peach vs Power 5 team. Happy but disappointed if in Fiesta or Peach vs Memphis, Houston, etc. (prefer Fiesta to Peach)
11-2 B1G runner up = happy to get Fiesta or Peach vs anybody
10-2 and no CCG = it was fun while it lasted, but bummer end to season
9-3 or 8-4, let's not even go there

No comments either agreeing with me or telling me I'm living on the past with this fascination with the rose bowl?
Even during an expected "good" season, 10 or more W's would have had us all going gaa-gaa with joy. For it to happen this year after the last couple of seasons has created quite a ride.
As long as we play well, even if the hawks drop a couple of games is not going to sour me on what has happened this year! I actually enjoy watching college football again LOL

Agree with both El Simbolo and hoffhawk. I quite satisfied with this season and while I can't quite wrap my head around being in the playoffs, that would be sweet as hell. That being said, a Rose bowl berth would be almost equal in my book. I grew up when we were getting there, and there's just something about the Rose bowl. It will always be "the granddaddy of them all"
