Down Goes Brooks!

1) if I were an ISU fan, I'd be livid that a fall wasn't called. AB looked flat several different times
2) things like this is why its funny when Iowa fans get upset that our guys don't win every match ever by tech fall. Anyone can lose, even a guy like AB who I would put good money on that he will still likely cruise to another national title this year. All it takes is an off night and/or a game opponent, one move, one position, etc. But this result won't matter much come March

Put Swiderski and their heavyweight in and it’s a 1 point dual.
Agreed, I think Swid wins by dec, not sure if ISU HVY can keep it to decision. This said, Brooks unlikely to lose to Coleman again, and SVN I would actually favor in a rematch. ISU competes, very impressive.

I think Swid takes top 4 as a TF.

It happens but Brooks is Thanos in March.

After watching that match, I think PSU will be a better tournament team than I originally thought.
I haven't seen the entire meet, but some of those scores are a bit scary as their two killer freshmen kept it pretty close in their matches. If Van Ness and Facundo get that good (tournament good) that quick the rest of us are in big trouble if we don't have some studs up for the challenge.

Iowa State had a tough dual against Cornell yesterday so they were probably a little worn out. Penn State beat Central Michigan 50-3 so they had more time to eat gummy bears.

Facundo's best defense against Carr was putting himself into potentially dangerous situations to get a restart.

If our guys are healthy at least we have a shot at winning. I read too many comments like no way, not a chance, next topic, not even close.
I love the optimism, but realistically too much has to go right for the Hawks and too many lions have to sh*t the bed. We have to have guys like Murin, Teske, Assad, and Brands all making the podium which they haven’t yet proven they can do.

I
Was it when Starocci beat a dude 5-1 that Foca nearly teched or when Brooks was counting lights.

It was before those two took the mat.. PSU is a better team from 149 thru 165 than they were last year. They have 4 returning champs and Kerk. The two you're laughing at will win their 3rd titles this year.

Hope I was specific enough for you...

I think Brooks shaves for NCAAs to eliminate the headgear chin strap problems he experienced.

Marcus Coleman wrestled great at Journeyman. I saw Brooks look him in the eye while shaking his hand to congratulate him. I don't think Brooks or PSU is worried about 184lbs come March.

ISU like it or not is building a program. Several tough young wrestlers and recruting is good.
Coaches are making them believers. . Good for them.
Good for the state of Iowa too.
Careful the pa crew will be here to let you know it wasn’t ISU being tough but psu letting them be competitive
